EJ filling in has to do with the difference between Da Bears playing and not playing. I understand at one point he was going to fill in on drums, but last thing I knew that position was still covered by Donald. Since it was never announced that he might fill in for another position, why would I believe he was going to play the show?

You simply gave me the impression that the show was going to be canceled. I think it's obvious that I'd believe that off of the logic that if a band member can't make it, then the band can't play. In addition to that, our conversation on the phone included you saying it's cool I couldn't play the show, because there are dates in August for us to play. After combining those two things together, I interpreted what you said as "It's okay we can't play, we'll just play the dates in August."

I believe there was a misinterpretation in the part of my post where I said "...people who are (or were) in Da Bears..." I was referring to your issue with confronting band memebers about their replacement, with a past example being Frank. I wasn't implying that I was considering leaving the band, or that I had.

I'm not positive as to why me telling people not to go justifies you calling me an asshole. If I had done it for no good reason, then I could understand, but seeing as it was out of my belief that the show was canceled, I think it makes me far from one. If anything, it would have made me an asshole to not tell people it was canceled, and to let them make plans around a set that I didn't believe was going to happen.

I'm actually really glad this is based off a misunderstanding. I apologize for being rude but this totally caught me off guard, and I think I misinterpretted your misunderstanding.

The feeling I got from the phone conversation was that I was explaining it was too late to cancel. I feel pretty (really) bad about the whole thing, but from the point of view of the band as a whole, I think its the best choice. Thats why I kept apologizing so much. I completely understand if you are bummed, and you have the right to be. I just hope you understand from the situation we're in.

Yea I don't think I explained the whole EJ thing because I just don't see / talk to you guys enough :(. Basically he got his hopes up on playing with us on drums and I said he can still jam with us. He was gonna buy a rhodes, and basically just switch around stuff depending on songs. Like sometimes play the 3rd guitar part we have on recordings, or do some percussion and that silly stuff.

I'm really sorry about the harsh words. When I read this at 4 in the morning I assumed the worst. Now that I'm cleared up I hope YOU understand my misunderstand haha. I hope you're still down to practice this week to mentor EJ and get ready for the shows that we DO have later in summer.

I never had any problem with EJ playing, and I agree that it's a good idea to have him play, and I definitely think it should happen. My frustration came out of telling people that show was canceled because I had not been told about EJ filling in. The fact that a dozen, or perhaps more, people are not going to the show is where my negative feelings came from. But yes, I am definitely still down for monday.
