Ode to the l33t|355...
There is something to be said, for l33tsp34k in the world
Of chatters, scamers, flamers, and spammers,
And yes, I admit, even kiddie scriptors have their place
(Although some would prefer it to be in thick brown muck)
Yet without such n00blets, oh tasty morsels they may be,
Where would we find entertainment?
If not for the floods of "hotgurl" and "nerdzsuck"
(Among many millions of others it may seem,)
How else could we, the true hackers of the world
Find so many unwitting test subjects?
I among others, remember a time, when the "internet" was a thing
Of green text on a black screen,
When modems "high-tech" were 14.4,
And the Cray had just hit one gig
I remember back when, when viruses were toys,
And hacks took true genious
And the 486 reigned supreme
(In my circles anyway)
I still remember, when Atarti games could still be found in stores
(though second hand I admit)
As with old boxy Nintendo carts
I remember Pascal, and C,
I remember Binary too
I can still see the amazement
On my father's face,
When I made a solitare game myself.
DOS graphics and all,
And a five-and-a-half floppy to store it
Ah, but such is not the case today,
With Pentiums, and Athylons, and DVD burners,
Screen rez hitting 2048 by 1536,
And colors in 64bit
(And yet, can the human eye even see so many?)
Alas, to see a time,
When anyone can download a program
To tailor a virus to their liking,
And mail it to every Outlook in the world,
All in an hour, not days like before.
And yet, there is a place, for the newbies
And the forum-whores alike,
Along with all those who would be lost
Without XP's guiding hand
(However bothersome to the rest of us it may be)
This I conclude,
Is my reason for rant and remenisce,
For I have once more found reason
To enjoy those minor annoyances.
Come, my brothers, and join in the great teaching
Of history, of programming finesce,
Let us teach all newbies of the world
What true "haxxor skillz" are... ^_~
