Okay, I promised I would put something up here about the trip to Ireland (both Republic and Northern). That trip was, ahem, two months ago now, but when I promise to do something, it doesn't let me go.
I don't have time to post here in detail, unfortunately, about Northern Ireland's fascinating and complex and distressing history, or about the whole island's stunning beauty, or about the delight that was the Josh Ritter concert (Josh Ritter concert!!!), or about how Ryanair hugely and deliberately screwed us over and how incredibly not-fun it is to shell out 200 euros extra (each) for doing nothing wrong. (Upshot of that, though: Ryanair is the most shameless and exploitative airline I've ever had the misery to fly. Fly other budget airlines, but don't fly Ryanair. And if you're ever considering flying Ryanair... e-mail me, please, so I can convince you not to in more detail.)
So, no blog post in detail about all the coolness that is Ireland, but at least I managed to put together an album of all the great things we saw, with some history and information woven in through the comments on each picture. Have a look if you like! Just click on this picture:
