save our swat team. please.
just today, our country figured in a
whole-day hostage drama that resulted to around 3 casualties, including that of the hostage-taker. i watched the entire drama over dinner earlier and maaannnn. it was almost deathly embarrassing to see how the situation was handled. a lot of folks in the pantry kept shouting possible solutions to how we could've gone about the event. like a tear gas or something. i honestly didn't know if i would laugh or just feel terribly sad that it took us that long.
denzel washington would've done it in 2 hours. jack bauer would've done it in 24 minutes.
then again, this was no movie, and these ain't actors either. this time, the bullet goes through you, you are unsure if you're able to function the same way again or if you do wake up at all. the drama that unfolded earlier was as real as it can get - and what's real also is that we need help! media just showcased to the entire world how screwed up we can be in crisis situations - wildly tempting the underground to go about different operations don't you think?
i am suddenly glad that ryan and my supposed hk trip did not push through this time. big whew. i just hope we're able to recover and recover big this time.
