I know it's been some time since I last wrote in this anything of value. Or anyhing at all. But I'm at a break from a Board of trustees meeting here and I thoguht I would give an update.
First of all, this semester is BY FAR the hardest I've ever had. Now I know what everyone else has been bitching about these last two years. Reporting 2 is probably going to kick my ass hard. It'll be worth it to learn how to write more about public affairs and get a better understanding of how to write like a real reporter. But damn, it's a lot of reporting. ANd stipulations I would normally not have to follow. Like having 5 NEW sources for every story. Ouch.
The DI (newspaper) is killing me too. My god. They make me write too much and im barely having the time to do it all WITH the classes. The Shakespeare and Victorian Lit I'm taking are a ridiculous amount of reading too. So is my political science class what with me having to learn every section of the constitution and all.
I did get a part time job though while im out here. Ironically, out of allthe places I applied to, the first one to call back was a pizza place. It's called Papa Del's and its a local favorite around here. The place is pretty much packed EVERY DAY. Saturday is insanity basically. But it's better than LOu's since I feel like the effort I put in and the reward are equal, and despite haveing like 10 managers, things make sense and no one is an ASS like at Lou's.
Lou's still has a better pan though in my opinion, even though Papa's has bacon and a better thin and a stuffed I haven't tried yet.
Unfortunately though I can't live where I currently am next year. Dave's brother is coming in, which is understandable and it's his parents condo and all. BUT my friend John is an idiot who can't graduate in 4 years so he wants to stay there and since he was here before I was, I get the shaft. I plan on staying at Capstone (if you havent seen it look at the pictures on facebook) but I need two roomies, or at least one, since even one will still in many ways be cheaper than most places on campus. If anyone wants to help me out with that :-) let me know.
Things are going great with jeanne too. She got mono while out in Connecticut though so not being able to kiss one's girlfriend, especially after not doing so since May, can be kind of a hard thing to do. Hopefully that won't last much longer though ;-) She gets tired pretty quickly though, like at 10, for no reason.
Overall though, things are going pretty well really. I'm generally exhausted and tired but I'm busy and always doing something and thats something that rarely happened during the summer. It's pretty nice. Now if only the Cubs can stop imploding that would be swell.
