Sammy Hagar, among other things

Jul 01, 2006 22:08

I went to a Sammy Hagar concert with Ryan and his parents at PNCbank/ arts center. We were VIP and it was awesome. We made best friends with this really, really trashed guy who hates America and is moving to Belize in a year. He's going to live ten minutes from the "Carribean Ocean"! And I will never forget Vera, or was it Lana?, who was also really trashed but could handle it really well. She was awesome and sat next to me. Her friend was a lot worse than she was, and fell once or twice. So Vera, or was it Lana?, told a racist joke or two, and when she had me inform her that in Cranford we're all "a bunch of crackers", she was like "God Bless America!" So she was awesome. Then Ryan got beer all over his back and we left kind of early. I was deaf for the rest of the night. Sweet.

Then today I woke up bright and early for a driving lesson. I had this guy Dave. He was slightly depressed. And I feel really, really bad for him because he works two jobs, and the one other than driving with kids is state-ran. At the time he didn't know whether or not the state had decided on a budget, but upon reading Clare's LJ I have found out that the state, in fact, could not decide. Now he can't work at that job because it is closed down since the state can't pay them. I feel so bad for him. He was depressed enough without this bullshit. Maybe that trashed, prospective ex-patriate / future Belizian was talking some sense about how screwed up the state was....hmmmmm.

Ugh. I wish I could do something for Dave.

So yeah. It's July. Wow. I went to Mel's grad party today. It was fun and I love her family. Especially Grams.
It's strangely almost the 4th of July. That's hard to believe. More people start leaving within the month...
