Tamara Anne "Tammy" (Mason) Petro
PETRO, TAMARA ANNE 'TAMMY' (MASON), 30, of Woonasquatucket Avenue, North Providence, a teacher at Barrington Middle School, died Sunday (4/24/05) as a result of an auto accident on Route 295 in Smithfield.
She was the wife of Matthew S. Petro of North Providence. Born in Providence, daughter of Everett W. and Margaret J. 'Peggy' (Harrod) Mason of East Providence. She had been a North Providence resident for 8 years. She had been teaching in Barrington since September of 2004. She was a 1992 Honors graduate of LaSalle Academy, a 1999 graduate of CCRI and a 2003 graduate of Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She was a member of the Barrington Teachers Union and a Communicant of St. Martha's Church in East Providence. She was a devoted mother and family person and was there to help everyone who asked for help. She loved teaching and was a firm believer in education. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves her beloved daughter, Anna Sierra Petro, at home and a brother, Paul Gerard Mason, of Portland, Maine.
Her funeral will be held Saturday (4/30/05) at 8:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial in The Carmelite Monastery, 25 Watson Ave., Barrington, at 10am. Calling hours Friday in the Funeral Home, 2-4 and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Anna Sierra Petro Scholarship Fund, c/o Matthew Petro, 408 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence, RI 02911, would be deeply appreciated.
