For the first time since 1959, LSU is ranked #1 in the Associated Press Polls. The vote was close, with only two points separating LSU and Southern Cal. Do to the poor performance of the Trojans in their game against Washington, combined with Florida losing to an unranked Auburn team, the Tigers were able to pick up 11 first place votes and pass USC in the polls.
