London and New Years

So, for those of you who are really, really slow and have been wondering where I am and lack the druthers to figure it out on your own, I am now a week into my three week England-Italy-France trip. England is a wonderful country full of fun people, many things to see, good beer, and fairly good food. Thusfar, I have seen: Lester Square, Picadilly Circus, Big Ben, The London Eye, The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Cockfosters, and a ton of other places. Tomorrow we are going to Buckinham Palace (home of the queen) and going to see the Changing of the Guard as well as meet up with Jess Dinstl for lunch. As far as what I have seen, there really are too many to mention and I have way too much to say about London on the whole to sit and type here. Instead I will talk about New Years. Needless to say, London is great and I am having loads and loads of good criac (goingson).

For New Years Dave and I rang up my mate Alex Bull (from Japan) and went out to Cockfosters - a place on the end of the Picadilly Line where Alex lives. I met his parents and had a beer at his house, which is coincidentally very very nice. I also got to see baby pictures of Alex and his brother which were both adorable and very funny. hahaha. We then all went to a pub near his house - The Cock and Lion. It was coindentally the place he used to work. I had a few too many beers there and got a bit ill... After that I began my rally and we all headed to a club called The Nineteenth Hole. There were a lot of older people there but it was a good time. I didn't drink much but enjoyed myself chilling with Alex and company. I also got to call Katrina from the outter part of the club just after midnight England time. It was noisy but I got to talk to her a bit and hear her voice. It was definitely the highlight of the night. (MISS U! ;))Around 2:30 Alex, Dave, and I left because we were tired and hungry (for some unknown reason). Alex was so drunk that he tried to walk through a thickett head first, failed, bounced back, and almost fell down on his face. Luckily I was Johnny-on-the-spot and caught him. Alex then almost got hit by a car crossing then street but we survived to take an English Taxi back to Alex's. The driver of the Taxi was a funny Italian man and he and Alex had quite entertaining banter about the concept of 19 holes and what that could mean... Also, while talking about his wife, the driver remarked "Please, you can have my wife. I hate her, she is a bitch." We also engaged in a guessing game to determine where he was from....

Driver: "Which country has the most beautiful women? Without thinking, just say it."
Alex: (pauses, thinks) "The country you are from!"
Driver: (not tricked) "Which is....?"
Me: (from the back seat) "ITALY!"
Driver: "YES!"

Needless to say, seeing Alex was awsome. I love him; such a shame we probably won't see one another for a while. Needless to say, it was good seeing him once more at least.

After we got to Alex's place, Dave and I grabbed the Tube (pronounced "Chube" by the English) or Underground, which is free on New Years, to Lester Square to grab a kebab and/or terrible pizza (English pizza is fucking awful). Lester Square was a fucking mess - people were everywhere. After waiting on queue for about 15 minutes I gave up and we went home. On the way home, Dave finally had to get rid of some bad stuff in his stomach and winded up puking some brownish pink stuff in the street. It looked painful but was pretty funny to watch eww (sorry Dave). Then, both of us feeling hungry, we stopped at another Kebab place and got some nice lamb donner kebabs. At the place, the man behind the counter noticed that Dave had tears running down his face (from booting) and asked him "What is wrong? Did you lose your girlfriend?" Dave, with his always genius timing, responded "No, just my lunch.: :-D We then went home, enjoyed kebabs, and passed out around 4 AM.

Today I woke up around 1:00, Dave and I had English McDonalds (not anything to write home about and definitely not as good as the Japanese version). We also had Mr. Wu's all you can eat Chinese food for dinner and then watched Euro Trip with Roberto - a friend of Dave's from Sweet Brazil. Very good movie. All in all, I am doing pretty well these days and having a great time in Europe. Also, Dave and I have been falling asleep to Invader Zim episodes every night. I have watched all of them at least 5 times so if I start quoting them randomly, sorry... :-D

There has to be a downside to all this fun, you are thinking, yes? Well, there is one downside. That being that I miss my Katrina very very very much. I cannot wait to see her when I get back. At least, hearing her voice, made me feel a lot better. :-D

ok, that is all for now. I am going to Italy on the 4th. Maybe I will have some kind of post after that adventure. See you all in the funny pages.
