Attention anyone who can help
I just picked up a turntable from my grandmother's house and am having a bit of trouble. It looked to be in very good condition, so I didn't expect to have any problems, but I do. It seems like maybe a belt is loose or something, because it sounds like the turntable is spinning, but it isn't. Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem, or what I can do to fix it/get inside without killing it?
I'd hate to have to give up, since free is so much better than paying.
It's from Sears, model number 300 or something.
There are two screws holding it down that I can't seem to unscrew, in fact, they actually get tighter as they come out. The turntable doesn't seem to want to budge, and I don't want to force it.
