Most of the time comics don't bug me that much. I follow some of them but not religiously. This doesn't mean I'm not invested in certain characters: in this case the Batfamily. For the most part I get my comic info from Scans_daily, especially for titles I don't follow: in this case Bruce Wayne: The Road Home. So I just read a preview of the Commissioner Gordon one and was annoyed with about a panel of it.
This one in fact.
Oh, Jason Todd I know that you're generating lots of love from your Red Hood: The Lost Days. But I don't think that excuses the writers from forgetting you in The Road Home. Someone on SD made the comment that yes, Jay is part of Bruce's family, but he isn't really part of the Batfam anymore. But the comic doesn't say which family Bruce is talking about and to forget Jay, when you even included Cass (who has popped up even less recently), just doesn't sit right with me (as does the fact that Jay is apparently going to be Dick's (as batman) next nemesis).
Yes, Jay's done some bad things recently (with a lot of help from Morrison), but that doesn't mean he's completely fallen. And in the right hands Jason is wonderful (See the Under the Red Hood movie for good hands).
But he most certainly IS a member of the Batfamily, fallen or not. To ignore him (Bruce hasn't even reacted to Jason's actions in Battle for the Cowl) is just bad form.
/ rant.
Sorry I just had to get it out of me. I love my Batfamily all of them, to ignore one of them is just wrong.
