Times Square show was AMAZING!!! Highlights:

--NOT having the mirror fall off of the car this time (granted, I wasn't driving).

--Catching not one, but BOTH, Metro-North trains with a minute or two to spare before departure.

--Pigging out on MONSTROUS cheeseburgers at Jackson Hole upon arrival in the city.

--Most importantly . . . emerging from Grand Central to a brilliantly illuminated Times Square and thinking . . . "we're going to be playing within a block of all this magic.....THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!"

It was absolutely surreal, and the show was among the tightest we've ever played! Well worth returning home at 4 AM!

In other news......

CYT is doing a cabaret on Friday night as the latter part of rehearsal. I'm stoked! Lots of people are singing really good selections, and I'm doing a good chunk of the accompaniment. It's excellent in that (a) it's a good break for the cast and a good chance to showcase different sides of their talent and (b) it FORCES me to familiarize myself with and learn the main selections from shows like Wicked, Les Miserables, The Producers, and others.

Cabaret aside, CYT is going very well so far. Runs of the show should start this week, giving us a good, solid two weeks of runs, and the chance to add in the orchestra and the other tech elements with ample time for adjustment! This is excellent!

I'm going down to NYC this coming weekend, though not to play this time. We're seeing Les Mis! And hopefully also the Average White Band!!! Should be a fun time I'd say!

More later, probably, but for now I need to catch up on all the sleep I missed out on this weekend!
