Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted, even longer since it's been something concrete. Anyhow.
SO, what's going on with me.
giventofly37 , I'm stealing your bullet list.
- Crissy and I are doing very well. We're actually discussing the feasibility of me officially moving in with her. I've practically already moved in, but this would mean paying rent and having more of my stuff here. When I first suggested it, she was against it, but now she's actually the one pushing for it. The only delay in terms of that involve finances...my job doesn't pay much. On a related note...
- I'll be starting a NEW JOB August 16th. It's with Fidelity Investments, I'll be a Customer Service Representative in their Health and Welfare department, answering questions people have about their healthcare coverage. It'd be regular hours, 9-6 Monday through Friday. I haven't had regular hours since high school. PLUS it's a 48% increase in pay, I'll be making the same amount of money as my friends who actually DID go to college. I'm pretty excited about that. The only downside to this job is...
- The job is technically a contract position. Through the end of the year. But there's a good chance my contract will be extended or I'll be hired on full-time; both the director of Health/Welfare and the hiring manager I had my second interview with started out where I will be starting, so I'm confident that I can go in and impress enough people that they keep me on. Customer Service is where I belong, I love dealing with people and making them happy, so I'm feeling good about this job. But I do have backup plans...
- I could probably stick with Macy's as an on-call associate, earning a little extra money plus the possibility of returning to full-time if Fidelity doesn't pan out. I hope it doesn't come to that, because Macy's has kind of killed my soul a little. I'm still debating on that one...
- But I do have others. We used to have a manager at Macy's who left and went to Liberty Mutual. Now he's a hiring manager there and recruiting from Macy's. If Fidelity doesn't hire me on, I know he'll be at least willing to interview, and the job would be handling corporate insurance policies, which I will have experience in after Fidelity. Plus phone based operations. In an unrelated note...
- I pay off my car at the end of this week! I'll be so happy when that happens...better paying job plus less bills equals lots of money!
That's about it from me...what's up with you guys?
