Yes, exactly. I understand why Elena might not get this, but I need to know that the show understands this.
I would not be surprised at all if Esther's kill-all-vampires secret motive is a future twist.
It seems a lot of people on my flist agree with us (I have a smart flist. :D ). Elena never really thinks through her heroic plans enough, but she REALLY should have asked more questions.
I'm so glad what I said about Elena resonated with you. I completely understand why so much of fandom is furious at Elena, but I found her behavior to be extraordinarily consistent with her character as I understand her, especially at this point. She's at a breaking point, and lashing out at Damon is exactly how she would deal with all the strain she's under.
I spend so much of my time thinking about Damon and Elena, so I'm very pleased you get where I'm coming from. I'm beginning to think that psychoanalyzing these characters is my job. ;)
Basically, Rebekah is the best, and Damon is the hottest.
