TVD 4x19: Pictures of You - Sorry, not you, just my close personal friends

Did anyone else find this hilarious? A photo memory book of our senior class! Which translates to: here, have some obvious screen shots of Caroline's inner circle! Of course, I suppose the rest of their freshman class is dead by now. All those people at the prom were probably recent transfer students. Get out while you can, kids. #Welcome to Mystic ( Read more... )

LOL, OH, THAT. That was a really good observation, it never struck me that the TVD regular cast was pretty much the only one featured in the photo-op because they're Caroline's inner circle. THAT IS SO TRUE.

Also, unf, Bonnie looked so hot, I can't. And I actually really enjoyed the episode. I'm not ~invested in the show rn, and I'm definitely not invested in the ships, so everything is just making me happy. But also, yes to the Tyler thing, I actually thought it was Silas? I mean I really thought that it was some manipulative trick. But it really was Tyler. Huh. Also, Klaus's threats are hysterical as always, I can't with Katherine ~running away from him. LOL, LIKE OBV YOU HAVEN'T SEEN HIM RECENTLY, QUEEN KAT.

Also, considering the Originals take up so much time, I can't imagine what TVD is going to be once they're gone. I mean, all relationships have been explored and everything's come to a head, so it'll be interesting to see what's left to see :O

(Also, sorry, I'm kind of crazy right now, so can I say how much I loved the cut. ( ... )

I have this annoying tendency to focus on random insignificant details instead of the scene itself in any and all shows I watch, so the photos were a constant source of amusement to me. Glad I could distract others from the actual plot.

BONNIE LOOKED SO HOT. I want that dress, too. Gorgeous.

I enjoyed the episode too. I'm sort of going in and out of investment in this show. I'm nowhere near as in love as I was, but I'm also still pretty loyal, and every so often I get slammed with feels. You never can tell. I'm just along for the ride, really.

I thought Tyler might be Silas too! Probably because he seemed so out of place, suddenly back for prom, of all things. Alas, no.

Also, Klaus's threats are hysterical as always, I can't with Katherine ~running away from him. LOL, LIKE OBV YOU HAVEN'T SEEN HIM RECENTLY, QUEEN KAT.

LOL, RIGHT? Seriously, Kat could crush him while doing her nails.

Also, considering the Originals take up so much time, I can't imagine what TVD is going to be once they're gone.Honestly? I wonder about this ( ... )

HA. I thought this was hilarious, too. Considering Elena's attendance of late, I imagine many people were confused.

WHY WAS PROM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS. But really.

Too many people have died in the gym?

Really good point about Jeremy and Tyler's appearance--would have been nice if he at least acknowledged it somehow.

I really want to ship Matt/Rebekah in my soul, because I always love to see the far-too-rare paranormal pairing of immortal ladies and human dudes. But I just can't for all the reasons you describe. I know she killed you Matt, but she also gave you a truck. Chill. Agree that the small redeeming part of their interaction was when we got some insight into why Rebekah cares.

So now all I can think about is this particular crack fantasy: "I voted for Bonnie Bennet because she got hit by a bus." "I voted for Bonnie ( ... )

Lol, this. Though I do tend to think that Mystic Falls is just a cluster of perpetually confused people by now. Anyone with the capacity to understand current events and their surroundings has long since moved far, far away.

Too many people have died in the gym?

LOL x10000. You solved it.

I feel you re: Matt/Rebekah. It could have been interesting, but the actual handling has never been done right, and I just don't have it in me to ship it at this point.

"I voted for Bonnie Bennett because she can explode balloons with her mind!"

You complete me.

If I don't get some sort of big glorified moment that corrects this behavior, I am going to be upset. Yep, pretty much. Honestly, I don't even need a big epic moment. I just need it to be canonically acknowledged that Damon was intentionally acting out of character. Because if he gets blamed for how he's behaved, and I trust he will, I want it at least mentioned that there was a reason for it. He ( ... )

LMFAO I totally noticed that. Although that strikes me as exactly the sort of thing Caroline would do (see also: megalomanical yearbook editors), so I just assume she selected all the pictures herself.

WHY WAS PROM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS.

IDK WHY DID THEY HAVE HOMECOMING IN TYLER'S BACKYARD. THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY SETS. DID YOU WANT PROM AT THE MYSTIC GRILL?

Jeremy dying could have at least gotten a text. And yet this vital radio silence was broken because Tyler wanted to dance with Caroline.

That had not really sunk in, but now I am kinda annoyed at Tyler on poor Jeremy's behalf. Although I was halfway expecting Tyler to turn out to be Silas pretty much until he left, lol. IDK Silas can't even be in two places at once, can he? I just did not believe Tyler would come back JUST FOR PROM.

Nice job with Silas!Jeremy. I did not know he was coming back. Did anyone ( ... )

True enough. And do I sense some personal experience here? ;)

DID YOU WANT PROM AT THE MYSTIC GRILL?

Valid point. The Mystic Grill has probably banned all public events since its 8th burning to the ground incident.

ALL OF THIS. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get. And I totally did think he might be Silas, because that made so much more sense than him returning solely for prom. I just...why.

How did you know about Silas!Jeremy? You clever thing, you.

Now I can totally see why she pursues him, given her need for affirmation, but it makes me ( ... )

Heh, my mother. She used to say that being yearbook editor entitled her to put in as many pictures of herself and her friends as she wanted. :)

How did you know about Silas!Jeremy? You clever thing, you.

LOL spoilers? I knew Steven R. McQueen was coming back, and Jeremy's death seem like a no-take-backs kind of thing, so I assumed it was as Silas.

And yet, I do not and I never have understood the American obsession with prom.

Heh, yep. This is probably true for a lot of non-Americans.

It's really championing the melding of plot relevance and emotional import, and I am enjoying it in an uncomplicated, delighted fashion.

Ooh, yes, this is an excellent description of Bonnie's arc. I'm enjoying her a lot right now.

But Matt keeps putting Rebekah down and making her feel unworthy of love/respect/anything, really, and Rebekah, being the trodden-upon, self-loathing person she is, just takes it all as fact.

Yep, and this is why that relationship is toxic and DNW.

But listen, I love Bonnie like whoa, but how did she end up as prom queen? When was the last time she went to school?

I know, right? Like, who are all these people who know who Bonnie is? Didn't she spend most of the season in Professor Shane's office?

But a lot of it is that I can really imagine Stefan saying those things, because Stefan is kind of the worst. Yes? Yes.

Yes. I didn't call it either.

I have always been a terrible American. I guess this puts me that much closer to actually becoming British?

Bonnie has been such a highlight of this season. And I'm loving that so many people agree. A good arc like this has been long overdue, and I'm glad the stuff we're getting now is so good.

Yep, and this is why that relationship is toxic and DNW.

Preach, friend.

Like, who are all these people who know who Bonnie is? Didn't she spend most of the season in Professor Shane's office?

Right? I feel like just as Bonnie was being crowned, someone should have shouted out "she doesn't even go here!"

Haha, possibly!

I feel like just as Bonnie was being crowned, someone should have shouted out "she doesn't even go here!"

All those pictures of them at the prom too. Everyone should have been like, "Who are these people? They only turn up at parties."

You know, this show wouldn't even be half as entertaining if it wasn't for you explaining the US to me :D.

You flatterer, you. How did I explain the US to you? I am A-typical in my confusion about why prom is a big deal. I am the worst American ever.

Well, we don't have prom here at all, so you being the worst American is still more informative than me being painfully European :P.

(Besides I have a feeling that if I were American, I'd hate prom as well.)
