So now Alex and Marta are telling me that some people think this is bad writing. I find that baffling. It's awesome writing, for myriad reasons. It was a legit amazing, shocking moment, it provides some compelling character drama in a long-lasting way, and it proves that no one is safe on this show

Ehhh, it bothered me from a writing perspective that Jeremy's arc still seemed to be somewhere in its middle, and so abruptly killing him off struck me as unfortunate. But as I said on Marta's post, this show loves to kill off characters JUST WHEN THEY'RE GETTING INTERESTING. Oh well. He's basically been fridged for the sake of Elena's and Bonnie's character development, so... yay gender reversals? :\

Also, I am so completely over killing characters to prove that "no one is safe." Thanks, Joss Whedon.

I love that they actually killed Kol. Sorry, Kol stans. But this was a bold move, and I always love bold moves. See, I was not that surprised at this? I suppose there was an outside chance that he'd be on the Originals spin-off, but I ( ... )

Ok, yes, this is totally fair. From a Jeremy perspective, this was definitely not good. Lol, understatement. This sort of thing definitely does usually bother me, now that I think about it, but I suppose I'm so used to Jeremy being sidelined and I'm so invested in Elena's greater arc that it just didn't get to me as much? But I will miss that kid, and he was definitely underused throughout the show's run.

Heh, I was kind of oddly surprised by it? Like, if you had asked me at any point prior to last week, I'd have been all, "Yeah, Jeremy's totes expendable." But having it actually happen just felt WRONG. (Although I do feel better about it after this week's ep, and I'm not sure if that's because I've gotten used to the idea or because Nina Dobrev is SO GOOD they should kill everyone to make her cry all the time.)

lol what is a Finn

P.S. STOP, YOU. You flatter me. Most of the time I am talking out of my ass.

Because any time the show genuinely shocks me, I totally dig it. And this shocked me. It was so brutal in its abruptness and it was all just kind of awesome, you know?
I’m the exact same.

Lol enough with DAMON’S DEATH. If he’s dead then how will he turn human (lol)?

"Face reality, Elena. We don't work." WE DON'T WORK. JUST. WHY DO I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. WORST SHIPPER EVER. OHHHHHH BUT I LOVE IT.
YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS *________________________________*

My feelings on these two are complicated and jumbled and nonsensical, but the one thing I've been pretty sure of is that I'm not interested in Stefan and Rebekah *falling in love.* And I'm not sure if the show is planning on doing that, but Rebekah's little wounded look when Elena and Stefan were bonding was a slight cause of alarm.
HISSSSSSSSSSS. SHUN THE NON-BELIEVER.

That said, I think Rebekah’s jealous look was more about her Elena inferiority issues than possessiveness of Stefan. At this point she’s more concerned with Elena liking her than Stefan’s feelings.

Word. Cackling.

Hold up, do you actually ship a CONVENTIONAL Stefan/Rebekah? Like, you want them to fall in love and be committed to each other and all? WHO ARE YOU?

THIS I could get behind. I ship Rebekah/Elena (mostly friendship, but hey, I'm down for more :P).

WHAT IF DAMON GOT TURNED HUMAN BY A FLOWER THO. WHAT IF THAT HAPPENED.

Yeah, I'm not actually all that worried about Katherine. I am just keeping a weather eye on the horizon.

But sources say that Trevino will be gone for a long time? Maybe even permanently. :o :o :o

See, this changes everything. Now I feel a bit guilty about my irreverent attitude. I do not want Trev to be gone forever! And that would be a mistake. Hopefully sources are wrong.

Elena might feel that Damon is the one who knows the ( ... )

Oh. No. I was just referring to shipping them at all. Though honestly I'd love it if Stefan fell in love with Rebekah and was all "oh shit" about it.

WHAT IF DAMON GOT TURNED HUMAN BY A FLOWER THO.
I WOULD THROW A PARTY

I KNOW! I hated it, but I loved it. Also, it was GREAT writing, because Jeremy has always embodied Elena's humanity, which is now gone for good. Well done, show.

Ah, Jeremy. We'll always have you Hulk-ripping your shirt off.

LOL!!!

Because I am a horrible shipper who is a thousand times more pleased when they're arguing than when Elena's declaring her love for him.

You are not alone.

Also, Bonnie standing up for herself and saying fuck you to all these people who think she can't handle herself are the best.

"I BELONG TO MYSELF." I may have cheered.

Pretty much all of this. I'm both miserable and impressed, and I recognize its necessity while also recognizing the storylines it's cutting off. Complicated! But still. It was quite a move.

My D/E shipping is out of control. It makes no sense. I want them to bone all the time but also be miserable but also not be cliche lovers torn asunder, and i just don't know. I DON'T KNOW. But they have faces.

This has been a shipper manifesto. *facepalm*

YESSSSS THIS. \o/
