LMAO, good to hear your marathon went well.

Has anyone been discussing the fact that Damon essentially invited Elena to witness his partial involvement in a mass murder?
OMG IKR. CRYING.

So he's basically calling Elena's bluff. She says she loves him, that she doesn't care about the sire bond, that she can handle everything that he is. So he's going to make her confron everything hat he is.
I thought this too. I don't think he's trying to sabotage their relationship or anything like that (lol, and I see you say that a little ways down), but I think his telling her to come to him had more than one purpose. Since she was spilling her guts like that, I think he realized this forced separation was unfair in a lot of ways. And yeah, Damon is always striving for "realness" and honesty above all. But they could hardly have a proper discussion about everything over the phone, so on complete impulse he told her to come back so they could really have it out. GOOD GOOD.

Or she'll deal with it, take it in stride, and tell him she still wants ( ... )

Your Damon thoughts are my Damon thoughts. What else is new.

Still, a few weeks later, I'm still waiting for the show to address all this stuff. I hope it's still coming, because this stuff is gold.

KEEP WATCHING THE HOUR BUT REALLY I MUST NEEDS DISCUSS IT WITH YOU WATCHHHHHHH IT.

The recaps probably are detrimental to my health. But this show is detrimental to my health in general. I'm too far gone, really. Beyond saving.

Really, it's classic Damon. He's going to show her the absolute worst of him, because that's how he's always handled these moments of intimacy between them. But this time, it isn't so much him self-sabotaging. I think it's a test. He is bringing Elena right in the middle of this bar full of people he helped conspire to murder, a bar he's also thrown her brother into, placing said brother directly into harm's way For er. Let's be honest, this looks bad. And either Elena will be horrified and disgusted and realize that she can't handle being with Damon, not really. Or. Or she'll deal with it, take it in stride, and tell him she still wants him. And that's how he'll know for sure that the sire bond really is affecting how she feels about him.YES. I think Alex is right that Elena's declaration of love has a lot to do with it. Like, they've been sort of dancing around the question of if (or how much) the sire bond is affecting Elena, and once Damon tested her with the blood bag, he didn't want to risk probing any deeper because he's afraid ( ... )

I love everything you say here, and it's exactly what I wanted to happen. I'm still feeling a bit robbed that we didn't get more of this. But I'm holding on to hope that the show will come back to that soon.

Telling her to come is like ripping a band-aid off - he'd rather just do it and get it over with, instead of continuing to agonize over how Elena's going to react and what it will mean for them.

Lol, this. Damon is all about ripping band-aids off. Stalling is for the weak. And Stefan.

YAY half-marathon! Congrats, Tinkerbell ;).

So he's basically calling Elena's bluff. She says she loves him, that she doesn't care about the sire bond, that she can handle everything that he is. So he's going to make her confron everything hat he is.

This is precisely how I read this scene. Why do you think I loved it? :D

I mean, I think he invited her over impulsively. No time to come up with an evil masterplan, no some great ploy behind it. But he's definitely gonna tell her, because yes, he can't handle her not knowing. If she says she loves him, she HAS TO know. He would've done the same if he didn't think she was sired. She has to see the worst of him, otherwise it's not real.

Not reading the The Hour part because I only saw s1, but YES OMG BEL/FREDDIE ALL THE FEELS.

Pretty much the D/E mantra since day one. Best ship of all the ships, tbh.

HOW FAR ARE YOU IN THE HOUR? This is a show that needs to be discussed. Or just flailed at.

YAYYYY YOU CAME BACK WITH FEELS. Huzzah!

No news, just...IT'S KILLING ME TOO. I NEED A SEASON 3. I NEED IT.

They feel much more autonomous than a lot of women in 50s shows, and I really like that

They feel a lot more autonomous than most women in even modern shows, which I LOVE. They are just so unapologetic about pursuing what they want, and it's such a delightful thing to see in this world of Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey.

My favourite thing is the way that the men just treat them as though they deserve to be there and there's never really any insinuation that they don't deserve to be where they are because they're ladies. IT'S JUST PRETTY GREAT.

OMG YOU'RE SO RIGHT. You know, I'd never really thought about this before, because it just feels so natural and right, but it's so true, this is actually a noteworthy thing for this time period and this environment and everything. Good call. You are smart, my friend.

Marnie is just amazing. She was amazing from the moment that she worked out that Bel and Hector were having an ( ... )

So many feels that I hardly know where to begin in trying to process them! Just SO FABULOUS ALL THE TIME. And YES, every time that Freddie calls her Moneypenny and she calls him James I. JUST. DIE. Every time. And you are so right about Freddie. The truth of things and Bel. They are the only things that matter to him.

WHYYYYYYY won't the BBC confirm a third season? WHY MUST THEY DO THIS!

We will simply have to hold each other if they cancel it. WHICH THEY MUST NOT DO. EVER.
