Hmmmm okaaaay

Mio!

* I really like her! I feel SO SO AWFUL for her after the canon ending of FFII and I want to know so badly what ~trouble she caused for Yuu. I am kind of fascinated with what it would be like for her to meet Yae - I mean, she's dead by the time they get to the village, right? Because her ghost has to be there for Mio to see. But like. What if she hung out with Miku and was like, "So I was kind of playing out the ancient traditional role of your mother because she ran off and didn't, for a while? And that's why my sister's dead. Um. So. Yeah. Also the ghost of your aunt tried to kill me. AND HOW ABOUT THAT CAMERA OBSCURA, HUH?"

* Um, Mio/Mayu is really the only option here. Because they're the best and the wrongest and the saddest. But I guess that also bleeds over into Mio/Sae because I am forever fascinated by possession and ~archetypes and such? And it would be a really interesting thing to write.

* Uhmmm Mio/Itsuki! Because they are the best of friends and now they can ~commiserate about losing the one they loved the most, except that they can't because Itsuki was a ghost all alonnnggg

* I don't know what the popular opinions are about her? So like. I dunno!

* I want the happy endinggggg. But only sort of because I'm a suck for sad things and I think the implications of the sad ending are more interesting. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT. I also sort of wish that Yae and Mio had interacted for real at some point.

You're a suck. And Yae is Miku's great-grandmama (Yae->Mikoto->Miyuki->Miku), but hey, close enough. The Calamity happened in 1837 (before Yae moved into Himuro Mansion) and the Repentance probably in 1875, and if Sae was fifteen at the time, that would make her and Yae's birthdates in 1860, and we're guessing she was about forty-five when she hanged herself, which puts her death in 1905, a good eighty-one years before Miku wanders into Himuro Mansion and eighty-three before Mio and Mayu and All God's Village. AAHH I KNOW TOO MUCH

WHY AM I A SUCK

And, see, I thought that first but then you were talking about Miku's mother hanging herself but I guess that has nothing to do with it or I don't know I am confused anyway YES YOU KNOW TOO MUCH

Miyuki did hang herself. When Miku discovers Yae hanged in the Cherry Atrium, she has a flashback to discovering her own mother in her garden at home. :)
