i just found this article lurking somewhere in the middle of the yahoo news headlines on my start page (alongside such grave national concerns as whether or not curt schilling took steriods). a figure of 100,000 civilian casualties since the war in iraq began is being disputed as a serious underestimate. even if you put aside the very neccessary debate regarding the accuracy of these facts, one must consider that 100,000 dead appears to be the conservative estimate. what the fuck is going on over there???

sorry to totally ruin your day, but after a brief stroll around the internet, i was reminded of how rarely one ever sees any fucking civilian casualty figures at all. so there you have it.
