Disclaimer:  I do not know Drake Bell or Josh Peck. I really, really would like to know them, though (especially Josh). This is all thanks to my overactive imagination and love for the boys =)
Notes: this is my take on things after watching this interview. It's a little twist on the way things could have gone...

Josh Peck likes to think of it as The Day the Earth Stood Still. And also, in retrospect, The Day the Earth Finally Started Spinning.

_______

Damn that Olivia Munn. There she was, all gorgeous, with her long, flowing dark hair, and her big brown eyes, and her pretty face. She seemed to be into him big time, and as a result he flirted with her right back. After all, it was all part of his job. He had to keep the façade going.

He was having too much fun, cracking jokes and enjoying the company, and had just been thinking this was one of the best interviews he had done in a while, when...

“Even though the film takes place in 19,” she cleared her throat, looking up from her note card, “94...so have you lost your virginity yet?”

“What?”

“Have you lost your virginity yet?”

“I don’t have index cards to, like...” he trailed.

“So have you lost your virginity yet?” Olivia asked again, sitting there like she seriously expected an answer.

Josh knew this was supposed to be a joke. After all, it came after he had used his “so what are you doing tomorrow?” line on her. She was naturally going to respond with the same kind of joke. But, still, he couldn’t believe that was the question that she had fired back with.

She handed him her note card, which he just looked at, totally flustered. He hoped the moment would just pass.

Olivia gasped and smiled at his bashfulness. “Was she good?” Olivia asked, smirking. Josh’s stomach jumped. Nope, he thought.

And, in a moment of disbelief and shock that she had actually taken it this far, he muttered, “yeah, he was good.” It wasn’t until five seconds after the words had left him that his brain actually processed what he said and he mentally kicked himself. Fuck, he cursed. He had the same feeling wash over him as when he had ‘dropped the robes’ in The Wackness. It seemed as if the minute the words tumbled out of his lips, the heavens came tumbling down with them.

He could hear a few gasps from the audiences, and a couple snickers. Josh could feel himself blushing.

“Well, I...um, have another interview, uh in 5 minutes, so I’m afraid I’m going to...uh, gonna have to cut this short.” Olivia seemed too shocked to speak. Josh couldn’t blame her for cutting the interview off. Damnit, Peck, he cursed himself again, shaking his head incredulously. Here he was, doing yet another interview to promote his movie which was coming to DVD, and he couldn’t help thinking that he had just demoted it a little.

_______

The Wackness had, thankfully, done OK on DVD sales and rentals. Sure it wasn’t a smash hit blockbuster, but nobody was expecting the indie film to be. And Josh hadn’t lost his reputation in Hollywood as the rising star that he was working so hard to be. So as a result of all that, he worried less and less about everything as time went on. But he’d never forget Olivia Munn and her pushy question that had, essentially, outted him to (some of) the general public.

He was sure all of the people who he had stunned that day on G4, as well as all of his shocked fans who had read the few articles that popped up the next day, were wondering who the lucky man was who had taken Josh Peck’s virginity. That part made Josh slightly giddy, in spite of himself. It honestly wasn’t that hard to figure out, and he knew that people would be able to make an educated guess if they just thought about it. In spite of the horror that had been Attack of the Show, Josh, after he had time to get over the initial shock, had to feel relieved that he had finally told someone.

Because, honestly? Despite the façade he had tried so hard to keep up over the past few years, whenever they were on TV or in the public eye or anywhere together, his partner always made it so painfully obvious that all of Josh’s affection toward the opposite sex was just that, a façade.

He had a feeling that people always knew, but it was just so unnerving to him to say anything about it in public. Despite the huge wave of relief that it brought when he did.

Damn that Olivia Munn. And that Drake Bell.
