A/N: I've been in a state of delirium for the past few days, so let's just blame that for this...
Summary: Some confusion with some boys at a concert...

“Josh! Hey!” Drake Parker maneuvered his way through the crowded club to place a hand on Josh’s shoulder. “I thought you weren’t coming,” he said with a smile as he let his hand linger on Josh’s upper arm. He also let himself be pushed around and jostled by all the people crammed into the space, because it allowed him to press his body up to Josh more than normally would be accepted. Then again, he and Josh seemed to get away with a lot that wasn’t considered “normal” for stepbrothers. Drake was pretty sure his feelings for Josh really weren’t normal, though. He kept telling himself that it was ok because he’d never actually voiced these feelings, and sometimes he was even able to convince himself that it was just a weird phase. But that didn’t stop him from relishing the fact that Josh was fond of hugs or that personal space was a foreign concept to him.

Before Josh could respond, Drake began pulling him towards the front, near the stage, and looked back at him as he asked, “Hey, did you do something different with your hair? It looks good.” Drake stopped pulling them and stopped to stand practically chest-to-chest to Josh. Josh was looking back at him in confusion.

Drake pulled his head back and looked himself over, trying to find what was confusing Josh. Failing to find anything strange, he looked back up with a raised eyebrow and said, “What?”

“Shouldn’t you be in L.A. right now?”

“What?” Drake laughed. “Why would I be in L.A.? Did you fall down the stairs again and hit your head?”

“Huh?”

“Huh?” Drake echoed, equally confused.

“Did you shave?”

“Yeah. Just like every morning.” Drake was starting to think Josh really did hit his head.

“What?”

“What?” Here they were again. The stared at each other for a moment, both thinking the other had gone a little mad. Drake’s phone vibrated, and he dug his hand into his pants pocket to squeeze out his cell. He looked at the caller I.D. and furrowed his brow in even more confusion. He looked up at Josh, then down at his cell, then back up at Josh. Josh was standing in front of him and definitely not on a phone. Finally he answered, in extreme bewilderment. “Hello?”

“Drake! What’d you do with the spatula?” That was definitely Josh’s frantic voice on the phone. Drake’s mouth fell open and he momentarily forgot how to form words, as the Josh in front of him was staring back with just as much confusion. “Drake!”

“guh-I, uh, I…” Drake was startled into saying. He realized he had forgotten what on-the-phone-Josh had said. “What?”

“The spatula, I saw you carrying it around earlier. How can I make pancakes for dinner without a spatula?!”

“Oh, uh, under my bed? Or maybe by the laundry.”

“By the laundry?!”

“I dunno. Somewhere in our room.” Drake shrugged.

“And why is the spatula in our room?”

“I had an itchy back!” Drake said defensively.

“AND?”

“It was a good back scratcher,” Drake said more weakly as he pouted.

He could picture Josh closing his eyes and clenching his jaw as he slowly shook his head at Drake. He’d gotten better at refraining from making some sarcastic comment about Drake’s intelligence though, so he just sighed and said, “Ok, thanks. Have fun at the concert.”

“Thanks.” Drake hung up the phone and looked back at the in-front-of-him-Josh, who was obviously not his stepbrother and best friend and hopefully-something-more Josh. “Uhh…” He stared at him blankly.

“Ok, what?” in-front-of-him-Josh said. “That didn’t sound like you at all. Who were you talking to?”

“Um, my…stepbrother…Josh.”

In-front-of-him-Josh squinted in confusion. “You don’t have a stepbrother named Josh.”

“Yes I do!” Drake shot back.

“Since when?”

“Since our parents got married five years ago!”

“What? Ok, hold on. I think I would know if you had a stepbrother named Josh.”

“I don’t even know you! I think. Wait…I’m confused…who are you?” Drake’s head hurt from the thinking.

Josh looked back at him in bafflement. “What do you mean who am I? Josh Peck? Your best friend?” Josh felt a little pain in his heart, as he was well aware that his desire to add “boyfriend” to their relationship description was never going to happen.

“Wait, I don’t know a Josh Peck…who do you think I am?”

Josh was beyond bewilderment now. “You’re Drake Bell.”

“Bell? I’m not Drake Bell. I’m Drake Parker.” Both boys were severely perplexed now, and they stared at each other like they were aliens.

“But…you…I mean, you guys could be twins.” Josh observed.

“You too! With my J-…I mean, with my stepbrother.” Drake blushed a little as he realized he was about to call Josh (Josh Nichols, that is) his.

“That’s weird.”

“I know, really weird.” They nodded and then an air of awkwardness spread over them. “Um…sorry about pulling you up here. I thought -”

“Yeah, no, it’s ok, I thought too.”

Josh Peck smiled at Drake Parker, and Drake Parker was mesmerized by how Josh Peck had the same warm smile as Josh Nichols, and how his eyes were just as sparkling and enchanting. Drake Parker felt a strange comfortableness around Josh Peck, and wanted to get to know him, although he felt like he already did.

Drake Parker smiled back at Josh Peck, and Josh Peck was captivated by how Drake Parker’s whole face lit up when he smiled, just like Drake Bell, and when Drake Parker flipped his hair, the familiarity of movement fascinated him. Josh Peck wanted to drape an arm around Drake Parker and reminisce about things that he felt they had done together.

The band had come on stage and began playing. It was one of Josh’s favorite bands, the reason he came to San Diego, but instead of jumping and singing along, he bent down to Drake’s ear and said “Hey, buy you a drink?”

Drake smiled, but leaned up to say, “It’d be illegal, but if you’re ok with that…” Josh smiled and nodded and started leading them towards the back, near the bar.

He ordered them two beers as they took a seat on the stools.

“So who’s Drake Bell?” Drake said as he took a swig from his bottle.

“Never heard of him?” Drake shook his head. “He’s a musician and actor. I’m surprised nobody’s ever mistaken you for him before.”

Drake shrugged. “I wish they would. I’m a musician too. But not like, professional or anything. Well, trying to be.”

“Are you good?”

“I think so.”

“Gimme a demo, I’ll pass it on to Drake. Drake Bell.”

“Yeah? Awesome.” Drake said as he smiled. Drake Parker liked Josh Peck.

Several beers later, Drake Parker and Josh Peck were definitely tipsy, and laughing, and touching, and dancing by the bar. Josh’s strong arm was holding Drake up as he collapsed into Josh’s chest in a fit of laughter.

“You’re fun, Josh Peck. Josh Nichols never gets drunk.”

“You too, Drake Parker. Drake Bell doesn’t drink much.”

“Hey, can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

“Is it weird to love your stepbrother?”

“No, of course not.”

“No, I mean, LOVE your stepbrother.”

After a moment Josh understood and said, “Oooh…well, I don’t know…is it weird to love to your supposedly straight best friend?”

“No! Love is good! I love love!”

“You’re right. Love is love!”

“Ya know what, Josh Peck? I think I love you,” Drake said as he placed a hand on Josh’s shoulder and smiled lazily, with tipsy, glazed over eyes.

“I think I love you, too, Drake Parker!”

“Yay!” Drake launched himself into a hug. Josh responded with just as much fervor and gave Drake a kiss on the cheek. Drake giggled in response as they separated. They looked at each other with sparkling, happy eyes.

Josh leaned down again and said, softly, “Hey, you wanna get out of here?”

Drake nodded, and took Josh’s hand to lead them out of the club.

They were in a hotel room, and Josh was leaving gentle kisses along Drake’s jaw, making his way down his neck and then onto his bare chest, where Josh’s tongue worked magic. Drake let out a moan as he ran a hand through Josh’s hair. Josh leaned back up to fuse their lips together in a gentle kiss. Drake sighed into the kiss as rolled them over on the bed, so he was sprawled out on top of Josh.

There was more moaning and thrusting and panting and slobbery kisses and shouts of names that came far too easily. It all seemed so natural and so right in a strange way.

Their sweaty bodies clung together afterwards.

Josh Peck looked down at the beautiful body clutching him and smiled. It wasn’t his Drake, but it was a pretty good one.

Drake Parker looked up at the strong body protectively holding him and smiled. It wasn’t his Josh, but it was a pretty good one.
