This year I cannot have the great privilege of Performing with the Vancouver Bach Youth Choir, It was an option, but acctually having to do some school work supersedes what is a privilege, am honour, and and a duty. In lieu of this duty I continue a Victoria tradition of instead showing my respects to those brave Soldiers who Fought for Canada when the call came to fight by joining the ceremony in front of our legislature. I go to honour those that Died, and the few who survived, because these people must be remembered, both with a degree of pride and a degree of fear, some things we should NEVER repeat and just the same we must take in consideration that someday we might be stupid enough to make the same mistakes.

I am three Generations separated from the First World War, My Great Grandmother's Brother died in the conflict, her only blood relative at the time. That's a hell of a sacrifice on both parts, some would call it foolish. I choose not to judge, you do what you think is right to be best of your abilities, only state leaders deserve such harsh judgement, not some school teacher in Rural Ontario.

Remembrance Day should be a kick in the balls for the country, hell for the WORLD when you consider the futility and sacrifice of a war without thought, without consideration, and without due consideration on what war costs us. Sometimes you need a reminder, and thank goodness we have it every year. I'm posting the Lyrics to a WWI song I used to sing with the Vancouver Bach Youth Choir, I look at the Lyrics, and I wonder just how many people would feel that this song was written with them in mind.

Keep the Home Fires Burning,
While your hearts are yearning,
Though your lads are far away
They dream of home.
There's a silver lining
Through the dark clouds shining,
Turn the dark cloud inside out
'Till the boys come home.

"To you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders fields."
