birthday stuff
I have some pretty cool friends. On Friday, I was treated to a surprise birthday dinner. They told me the occasion was a dinner meeting to discuss convention planning. I was a little suspicious about the timing of it all, but I did kinda fall for it being a meeting. Unbeknownst to me, my friends keep up with my blog and have been reading about my computer troubles. They pooled together their resources and bought me a new motherboard, processor, RAM and video card. Another friend gifted unto me a nice bottle of sake. We topped the night with tea and boba.
On Saturday, I started the day slow. I went out to dinner with some other friends to Noodle World because of some Chinese tradition of eating noodles on your birthday to wish for long life. Afterward, a few of us headed to the Circus Disco. It's a pretty good club with 4 rooms of music. We spent the night dancing until the place closed at 4 a.m. The last DJ played an incredible set.
