frustrated
ezboard got hacked over a week ago, so the posts on my Anime Expo message board are currently wiped. they say it will be rebuilt in 7-10 days but I'm still waiting. I don't know if I should look for another message board service or just throw my hands up in the air and give up.
this attack came at a very inopportune (or opportune, depending on whose side you're on) time. the "official" ax forums went online a few weeks ago after a 6-month or so hiatus. then my forum goes down a month before AX. this time is critical. the "official" forums can capitalize on my forum's absense. this really ticks me off.
for a long time I've resisted moving to another service. in the past, people have offered to host the message board on their servers and I have refused them. my refusals were mostly due to my stubbornness and selfishness. I find it really hard to ask others for help. And if I allowed the message board to be hosted on services other than my own, then it becomes less mine. I've viewed the AXezboard as mine since I built it years ago. mine mine mine. that's why I take it so personally when someone slights it, screws with it, or makes a suggestion that I leave it. this thing has been my baby from the get go. but recent developments are working against me.
