So, I'm back. People inspire me, and I've recently come into contact with both someone who reads and someone who writes. Now I want to do both again. I'd been meaning to post soon anyway.
I kind of wish I could remember dates. When I'm posting more often than once every 20 days I can actually remember when the things I wanted to talk about happened. Oh well. Anyway, things have been good since graduation. The first week when my brother was still here I posted about, and since then things have continued to be pretty enjoyable. Allow me to categorize:
I have money. This money has come from several sources: A) Graduating, B) Working, C) Gambling. Graduation was fun, and I'll talk more about that party later. I somehow didn't expect it but I got lots of checks that day. Working for my dad has been going well... I've started to come in later and later as I've realized that it just doesn't matter when I show up, but most of my workdays are still at least 6 hours and I work 5 days a week. I also worked once at the track and am going there again this Saturday, which is good money. But yah, my Dad's work is sometimes a little less than exciting, but overall I enjoy being there, and I'm glad for the hours. And of course poker is fun too. I won a couple hundred going to Foxwoods with Jon and also took down a hundred or so at a TNP, so that's just gravy.
I have friends... both inside Canton and outside it! Graduation parties aside, too. I think 2 weeks ago (or just 1?) I saw the new Die Hard with Dave and Tom, yesterday went bowling with Joe, Dave and Shelly, and last Friday attended what's becoming a weekly poker game with Me, Joe, Dave, Shelly, Jeremy, and one or two other people I don't know so well. I might end up seeing Pat or Will sometime this summer too. Ben's away and Steve is... MIA, but people are around in Canton this summer and I like it. Outside of Canton there's been Fiesta in Gloucester after that TNP I took down, and the week after that was the party at Eric's, not to mention multiple < whisper > D&D < /whisper > sessions up there too, including the one on the fourth where, my other plans having fizzled, I ended up staying there all day and we lit off our own fireworks. Also hit up the 'Woods with Jon as mentioned above, and had M and Suzz come over to swim after Eric's party and then hung out all day afterwards with M (and watched The Full Monte :P). And also Abby came over today and we... swam... and that was fun. Friends are fun :D.
I had graduation parties. There were a couple, but I'll start with my own. A lot of people that said they would come couldn't, but a lot of people that I wasn't sure were coming made it, and I thought it was a really nice crowd. Adina and Alex came, Dave and Joe and Carole came, Michael and Katie and her friend (Helen?) came, Phil and D were there, Sam and Zach made it, Eric and Matt and Barry came down, Alan came too... I'm sure I forgot someone but the fact is all these groupings came in different cars from different locations and the majority of them didn't know each other. The mingling went very well, considering. We played a lot of four square and boggle, with a little bit of drinking frisbee and cards mixed in. If you're reading this and you were there, thank you for coming. The previous day contained both Joe and Katie's graduation parties. Joe's was fun, I became a human bowling ball and we played badminton and Mario party (including Phil, who had come down early). Katie's was also fun, we sat by a roaring fire and I actually had a real, more tham just polite conversation with Becky Chonner. She's one of those people who you know who they are and everyone says is nice, but you run in different circles and you never really get the chance to talk. I'll probably never see her again, but the conversation was pleasant enough.
In other news, I have purchased my tickets to Europe, and Eric and I depart on August 8th. ::Excited::!!! I need to think more about what I want to do once I'm there, and I don't just mean which sites to see, but it's looking to be pretty awesome. China is still just a probable but I can't imagine myself putting that off much longer... can I?
Of those who seem to still use lj, I think I've seen a fair number of those who I could possibly see and who might read this, but I'm looking to see as many people as I can before I fall off the face of this continent for 15 of the next 16 months. If you're around, gimme a ring!
