Christmas
Quick note from my friends' house. A couple invited me around months ago, he was planning to have is mom, dad, brother, sis-in-law, and nephew around for the big meal.
He picked me up from work on Christmas Eve and is dropping me back off tomorrow. Lots of lovely food (perfect turkey) and good drink (d'Arenberg). I did stocking with small gifts for everyone and bought the couple a share in the Wine Society. They got me a couple small trinkets and are taking me to a concert with her dad.
There have been two walks a day with their whippet and a couple trips to the pub. The company has been great.
This really hasn't been a normal Christmas period at all. I didn't decorate the house, and just have not been in the spirit. It has, however, been a very relaxing last two days and I've very much enjoyed spending time with friends and their family.
Last note, I've been a bad son. I didn't send my mom a birthday card and now I failed to call either of my parents on Christmas day. I will make up for it in 2014.
