another thought on our trip
Something that did occurr to me sitting in the chalet about halfway through last week: I was and am in exactly the right place. Granted I was a little tipsy which sometimes helps things along, but looking around, I felt somewhat proud of where I was. With a group of similar people on a moderate income enjoying a sport that starts at the middle classes for a reason. Everyone for the most part was motivated, getting up in the morning, taking lessons, working hard. We ate well, we drank well. We chatted and watched videos of ourselves at the sport. All of us going on holiday not to loaf, but to work. Even saying something was missing from the trip compared to previous years, the trip itself is an example of the sorts of behaviours that I aim for.
