a concert, a hotel, a breakfast

Ray Lamontagne last night was better than I thought he was going to be, although the Royal Albert Hall all but drowned the sound and we couldn't see him at all from our side view seats. Good tunes though -- better than I would have thought from "Trouble" -- and great voice. I didn't realize that Ethan Johns produced his first album. I will have to check it out.

It was a bit of a hassle getting to the hotel last night. And Martin seems to have lost his glide through life.

This morning was a bit unexpected. The lie in was nice. The quick bus ride to work, strangely, was not. Nor was breakfast. From this I might conclude a few things. The optimum commute to work is on public transport, without a change, lasting between 20 and 40 minutes; today was a little too fast to prepare, and my daily commute home takes too long. My favourite breakfast is a nice pastry and good coffee; bacon, sausage, eggs and the like are for late breakfasts and brunches on the weekends only. Lastly, I get a better start to my day when I wake up next to my wife.
