why are christians so crazy?
so my family is going to Abilene Texas today for my older sisters graduation. my uncle bruce came up to get a ride with my mom. me and him had a long talk, and as always, it immediately went to religion.
a little background on my uncle:
-he used to be a big time drug dealer/user, he has been in and out of prison 2 times. one day after being almost beaten to death, he woke up and found god.
he was telling me how for 3 days he had the devil talking to him in his deaf ear. and how there was a demonic creature in his closet with glowing red eyes. he prayed to god, and then there was a sound of rushing wind, and he said that within 10 minutes, all the voices in his head, from the demons, stopped.
from what he told me it sounds more like he was having drug withdrawls, or a bad trip, but he is convinced that god was talking to him, and saved his soul, and now claims that he has the "Holy Spirit" on him all the time, and it makes him feel tingly all over.
so anyways, we were talking today, and he wanted to know what church i go to. reluctantly i told him, i dont go to church. then we got into why i dont. i was talking to him about evolution, and natural selection, and he told me that what i believed was wrong. that evolution isnt real, that natural selection isnt real, and that if i dont believe and follow the bible, word for word, im gonna burn in hell for the rest of my eternal life. he told me that he could prove everything that happened in the bible, and that he could prove evolution is wrong. i let him know that he is very closed minded to say that everything other than what he believes is a lie. and how that even though i dont believe in the bible, im not going to tell him that its wrong, that he is living a lie, or whatever.
i dont understand why all these religious buffs, feel they need to press, and make us follow what ever the hell it is they believe, because its for the good of our eternal SOUL. it just kinda pissed me off, that he wouldnt even listen to what i had say, because the bible is the word of truth.
