What news from babytown? Poop Now Smells with the Stink of a Thousand Landfills. Babies Sleep, Sometimes. Babies Smile at Dad, Not At Mom; Mom Perturbed, Vows to Acquire More Smiles than Dad.
Mom is back to staying over, helping with the kids through the night. Makes the one overnight feeding go much faster with two sets of hands. And eases things for Carrie just a bit, which is good.
What with us being gone over Xmas we decided to not buy a tree. That decision coupled with childcare made for no decorations going up. Late in the week I decided I didn't like that much and decorated the screen (a large wooden one, carved with leaves, that Mom picked up overseas) in the corner of the dining room with lights and ornaments. It brings the festiveness in a nicely positive way. That coupled with some other dispersed Xmas bits makes it feel much more holiday-y in the house. Much like the Thanksgiving in which my sister-in-law decided to do a fish fry in lieu of turkey, I didn't know I'd miss it as much till it wasn't there.
Played some D&D on Friday. Good to get back to gaming.
tsiar and I made eladrin-runepriest and elf-chaos sorcerer (respectively) revenants (dead people, that is), newly brought back from the dead for some purpose we've only just begun to suss out. We battled our way out of our tomb and then set to putting things to rights in a nearby village. Its looking like there is an evil power at work in the land and that perhaps we were brought back to put it down. One thing that was surprising, especially since I don't think I've played a striker before, was the massive damage output my sorcerer was flinging around. That plus all the crazy wild magic bits that come with the chaos half of the class make for a decent amount of bookkeeping but lots of fun too. Not that revenants are inclined towards it, being that they are not zombies so much, but I completely failed to feast on brains in the game.
Leaving tomorrow for the long road trip. Well, not so long, really, but the first with babies in tow should make it feel longer. Three hour jaunt to Carl-Bad on Monday, then the longer bit up to Colorado on Wednesday.
