"Funny - didn't seem that painful when you were doing it to the horse!"

I've got to brush up on my Great Ace quotes for when we go to Chicago... nothing is a better ice breaker than walking up to a stranger and going "Bumblebee Tuna... Bumblebee Tuna!" *snirk*

I FINALLY got Madre and Smurfinator to watch Continuum!!! *dances* We actually just got finished watching it a little while ago...*sigh* That movie is so much love, and they actually LIKED it. Okie donkie, they liked AOT too, but THAT is neither here nor there. The point is they didn't complain AT ALL about it (though Smurfinator made some frelling comments to Sam - and i mean literally to her during the movie...yes, he is the type that talks to the movie characters - that REALLY pissed me off). Of course he was asking a BUTT load of questions about five seconds before the answer to the question would come on screen. *headdesk* And he didn't get the significance of a lot of the stuff going on in the movie (like the hardcore fandom stuff that made a lot of us squee or awww, i mean). But they enjoyed it and that's the best I could hope for.

Madre just yelled upstairs (because we yell across the house... a lot) to put it on the tv guide channel. That special about Comic Con is on...so I figured it HAD to be about SG-1. And it was, but I caught the tail end of it. *headdesk* Just my frelling luck... I'm sure it'll be on again, but I never know when and it's always such a hassle to try and catch stuff like that. GRRRRRR - hey, maybe it'll be up online eventually. What am I saying - this is SG-1 stuff I'm talking about! OF COURSE it will be online! XP

If you were to ask me what's the question people have asked me the most in the past month it would HAVE to be - 'when are you going back?' OMFG, it's starting to grate. Really! It seems I know A LOT more people than I thought I did because it seems every damn day SOMEONE is asking me that question! It takes all i have to POLITELY tell them it's about two weeks until i go back to school. Honestly, all i want to do it go out on the porch and shout 'IT'S TWO FUCKING WEEKS, ALRIGHT!?', but that won't stop people from asking me, will it?

OH, we saw The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor last night!!! XD I went in not expecting it to be as great as the first one, or even the second, because no sequel will ever top the first Mummy. It is made of win! But, even with that biased view, I was pleasently surprised by how good it ACTUALLY was. It had all the elements of a Mummy movie, and some things that made it unique. There were plenty of homages and little jokes for us fans of the franchise, and yet there wasn't anything REALLY tying the movie to the first two - I mean, characters, yes, backstory, yes, experience, yes, but you DON'T have to see the first two to appreciate this one. The Rick/Alex relationship in this one was just GUH - AMAZING! I was a little misted at one point. I actually think their stuff was better than the Rick/Evie stuff (though they certainly had their moments!). And the humor that we all love from this series was there. I will admit that not having Rachel Weiz as Evie kinda made the Rick/Evie stuff seem less real to me, but I'm a purest I guess when it comes to those two. I just kept thinking at certain points 'god, i want OUR EVIE back!', but Maria wasn't BAD as Evie. Just she WASN'T Evie as I know and love her!

I will say this - it's very rare that i forget about my popcorn when I'm seeing a movie. When I saw the Mummy Returns in theaters, I forgot about the popcorn. Same thing with the third one last night. THAT'S how I knew it had made the cut. I was too into the story to remember I had my all time favorite food just inches from me.

In total, I think the Mummy 3 deserves an A-. XD

I think I'm getting sick... My head is hurting, my nose and throat are bothering me, and for some reason my teeth have been hurting me. Maybe it's my sinuses...I usually don't have a problem with them, but when I do, it's not fun. Honestly, though, I'd rather be sick NOW than in three weeks when I'm gonna be at the con!

Worked on some fic today while in the box. I'd been feeling a little lost fic wise, but today after pontificating (if you want an explaination for THAT one, just let me know! *snirk*) a little, I decided just to go ahead and get back into a fic I started a couple weeks ago. I'm actually happy with the part I was working on just before packing it up in the box. It's classic DV mischief stuff - it's always so great when the banter flows so freely and easily! I don't know if I'll finish the part tonight, but it definitely should be done by tomorrow.

I'm thinking about doing a centerpiece for the contest in Chicago...thoughts, opinions? Yes/No? I know I can make a mean Stargate out of aluminium foil and masking tape, but I need to know if I should go through the trouble of getting the other stuff I'll need to do it. So, flist thoughts on this idea?

Okie donkie, on that note, I think I'm gonna end this here. I really need to get ready to bed and try and fight off this ickyness!
