I have watched Robot Chicken this night - hence the reason for the really random subject title. There is nothing quite as wrong and distasteful as Robot Chicken (and I want to know WHEN they are going to, if ever, release Star Wars Robot Chicken on DVD! I NEEED IT!)...
Anywho, I realized it had been a while since a 'proper' update, so I decided I'd do one tonight (actually, wanted to do one last night, but got tired and went to bed (wow, who would have THOUGHT...*snort*)...
The bulk of what I wanted to talk about was my day yesterday. It was an action-packed, adventurous day with the usual twists and turns that come when the three of us (me, Madre, and Papa Smurf) go to town. It was so action-packed that we left the house at quarter to ten in the morning and didn't get back until almost ten at night. Yep, complete twelve hours day...
First of all, let me say that waking up to John Crichton is A LOT better than waking up to the annoying alarm clock. See, instead of setting my alarm clock to go off at 9 yesterday, I set my phone. And of course the ringtone i used was the S.3 intro for Farscape (yes, I do have it as a ringtone. You are allowed to feel jealous *snort*). It was soooo nice waking up to that! Of course now I'm wishing I had the S.4 one as a rigntone also...I might have to work on getting that. LOL...
Moving on - we headed out to Lafayette. First place we went was to Ted's appointment for his elbow (checkup or whatsuch). Of course that took a good half hour or whatever. It did give me time to start another letter to
taraleesg1 and read a little more of my current book. After we finished there, we went to the Walgreen's in the same parking lot so I could get some more makeup. See, I have a tendency to break ALL my black eye shadows. Doesn't ever fail - it always gets broken in travel, or dropped on the floor and shatters. So that's what I was getting at Walgreen's - i got THREE different black eyeshadows, just in case.
We headed off to Sam's after that (after stopping at Starbucks so I could get a chai tea to tie me over until lunch), and Ted bought me this really nifty (yes, i said NIFTY) ipod dock. What makes it cool is it's a video ipod dock, so it not only plays my music, but also any of the videos on my ipod. I, of course, took some pics of it tonight (and am using it now):
This is the dock still in the box - with a special guest appearence by Sikozu! (she had to make sure the box was safe, of course!)
The device opened up and turned on (without the iPod in it). How do like those Scooby Doo boxers on the side there? They say 'Muy Caliente!' on the backside because we KNOW i'm hot stuff! *snort*
The TINY TINY remote for the dock. Luckily there is a little special compartment on the dock for this because y'all know I'd surely lose this frelling thing!
Sikozu wanted a little pic!luvin' too!! Ain't she just the prettiest Sputnik EVAR??
With the iPod in it, playing one of my videos... can we guess what THAT is one the screen?? XD
JUST in case you couldn't tell from the LAST picture what it was! *SNORT*
Sikozu was flipping out for a little bit trying to figure out where those hot male voices were coming from (i think the fact that i had the volume on the loudest setting might've something to do with it. The fact that i was QUOTING with them didn't hinder her search for the voices!)
The dock closed up. You see that little slot looking thing in the bottom left-hand corner? That's where the remote goes.
With just the iPod playing music....
And this is what I was listening to - first song that came up on shuffle (BTW, that is NOT my actual song count. I have unchecked a lot of songs I don't listen to to make room on my iPod)
Funny little side note - Sam's ofcourse had a floor model out so you could test the dock. I popped mine in, and went to the video menu. Selected tv shows, and Farscape was the last thing highlighted. So i clicked it. What's going to make this funny is for some unknown reason, I have been quoting Crackers Don't Matter for DAYS now - and not just my usual 'look everybody, sunshine's awake!' part, but the part where John spells T'raltixx. Anywho, clicked on Crackers Don't Matter, and GUESS which park started playing?? That's right... 'Anyone? Anyone? A brand new car! No! T'raltixx! T - ' - R - A - L - T - I - DOUBLE 'X' - T'raltixx!' *snort* I squeed in Sam's very loudly (not unlike my squeeing in Wally World when I found Megasnake!).
We went to some place Ted needed to go after that, and then it was lunch at Olive Garden! *dances* It was my belated Mommy's Day Present for Madre. She hadn't been sure if she wanted to go to Olive Garden or Buffalo Wild Wings, but in the end she chose Olive Garden. And I'm soooo glad she did because WOW, the amazingness of the food there never ceases to amaze me. Got my usual - Chicken Alfredo. Delicious! Brought it home of course, and had some for dinner tonight. There's still a bit left, so it's BACK in the fridge waiting for me to devour the rest tomorrow. *sigh* I love my Olive Garden Chicken Alfredo!
After lunch, we headed to the Grand to see WALL-E!!! And OMFG! AMAZING!!!!!!!! It was visually spectacular, funny and cute, and just downright made of win all the way! The short was funny (thought not as good as Taken - the short before Ratatouille), but it was definitely the movie that took the gold. The music was downright fantastic (i'm contemplating just DLing it from iTunes. I could check Wally World next time I go, too), and the story was soooo sweet. I cried. Really, I did. Wall-E and Eve were so adorable!!! Is it bad I was making a connection between them and Daniel and Vala?? Yeah, I think that's bad, but I don't care! They were awesome! Also, i think it's bad that every time I saw Fred Willard, all i kept thinking was JACEK JACEK JACEK - see what we get when HE runs the planet?!
But, yes, Wall-E PWNS - I won't say it's BETTER than Nemo, but it's just AS GOOD as Nemo. They are now both tied for my favorite Disney/Pixar flicks!
Though I have come to realize I can't take Ted to see a kid's movie EVER AGAIN! Let me set the scene for you here. I went to get us seats while they got the popcorn and whatsuch. Well, i get in there, and there's only two parents and their little girl in there at this time. Well, they had that middle row - ya know, the best one? So I took the row just behind them. The mother turned around and was like 'i'm just letting you know she might talk - this is her first movie'. I was like it's all good. I mean, how cute?! This little girl must've been maybe three, and her mom and dad are taking her to see Wall-E. I didn't think parents actually DID that anymore! But anywho, when Madre and Papa Smurf got there, I told Madre, and she told Papa Smurf. Now jump ahead to the big drama of the movie...I won't say anything that will spoil anyone, but it was an intense moment. And just as the movie goes quiet enough, Ted says in his overly loud, booming voice 'Knock that little shit out!' Both me and Madre turned to him and went TED! I swear, I thought that little girl's father was gonna turn around and do something. I wouldn't blame him either - i mean, come on! This is a DISNEY MOVIE, Papa Smurf! I think he's just SOOO used to me taking them to see things like Pirates, Underworld, Harry Potter (the latter ones, of course) that he just wasn't making the connection that there is no cursing in this movie for a reason!
After that, the day got less exciting. We went to Duson and visited his dad. Went to Rayne and visited Johnny, Willie, and all their lot for a few hours. Then we came home and crashed, basically...
And today I had to work (yes, working on the 4th - remember, we're BARELY closed on CHRISTMAS. God Forbid we be closed on JULY 4TH!), so it all just became bleh after seeing Wall-E. But it's all good because i'm off tomorrow.
OH, and for my fellow JP fans. When we got to Rayne, at Jaimie's house, there was a goat. Well, me being me, went 'where's the t-rex?' Not even a second later, the goat did his little 'baaaaaaa!' thing. Both Madre and I BURST out laughing. Of course only her and I have these JP moments outside the home, and of course only people who appreciate JP will get the humor in it, but it WAS funny to us!
I think that's about it for now. I'm tired.... I'm planning on posting a lot of things tomorrow, including the changes in my summer reading list, the pics from vacation last month (I swear - i even got them all loaded onto photobucket!), putting the rewritten 'Family' stuff on
brabbit_hole, and other things. It's probably gonna be my LJ catch up day tomorrow.
