1. my username is________ because ________.
dannysgirlsg1 because...well, it should be obvious! Though I made this LJ back when I first got into SG-1, and was completely and utterly obsessed with Daniel (I think I've grown out of that phase - *SNORT*), before the shippiness and other fandoms took over, I think it still has a strong sense of who i am - because I will always be Danny's girl - Daniel will always be my favorite SG-1 character, probably always my favorite fandom character period. And the sg1 part - well, duh! My eternal fandom, and my eternal fangirl!squee in the fandom, all summed up in one username!
2. my name is ________ because _______.
Amanda because it was the name my dad wanted to give me, despite my mom's uber!cool, totally redneck suggestion! (It was Bobby Jo, since his name is Robert and her's is Joan) The problem with this is my dad already had a daughter (not with my mother) named Amanda - so in a way, he cheated me even at birth by giving me a name already used! In a sense, i feel like the "other" Amanda to him. Still, my mom totally made it better by making my name Lynn (which is a family named, derived from Roslyn..interesteing, eh?) - So that's why one of my nicknames is 'Banjo', which my grandma would call me, since my name is Amanda Lynn.
Mandy of course is the name most call me by, and that's obvious since Mandy is the nickname for Amanda - I prefer Mandy b/c it's mor casual and laidback, where Amanda sounds too proper.
And then, online, I go by Pip. This is because several years ago, my friend Lisa and I were discussing how she LOVES to eat apples - I made the comment she's just like Merry from LOtR, and if she's Merry, that makes me Pippin, or Pip. And I am very much like Pip in the sense that I love to eat constantly, and am always getting myself into trouble, and finding obsurd ways to get out of it. So, when I started signing up on SG-1 forums (most notably, Beta), I just told people to call me Pip (especially since we had THREE Mandy's on the forum, including myself), and it stuck - One person for sure calls me Pip outside of the online community, and that is mi jock strap, taraleesg1
3. my journal is titled ______ because __________.
'If You're Lost, you can look and you will find me...Time After Time' because it's the lyrics from a song that someone made an awesome Daniel/Vala video to, which I based my current layout on. It's not the Cyndi Lauper original, though it was that version that ultimately jumpstarted the urge to make it the theme of my new layout. The version I hear when I see the lyrics, and ultimately WHY it's a DV song for me, is the cover by Quietdrive. After seeing AoT, and being the DV shipper that I am, I interpreted some moments, MOST IMPORTANTLY Daniel saying "I'm right here" when Vala is all prepared to find him literally into the lyrics (i mean, look what the lyric says, and then put it to THAT moment in the movie! OMG, PERFECT) - also tied into the moment when Daniel looks at Vala when they are confronted by Adria, and he is seeming to tell her without words that she needs to do her thing, and distract Adria - and Vala immediately understands that - all of it fits into the lyric, and that's why the journal gets that name.

Home Taquitos because a while back, while joking around with Koz, I told him he wouldn't be my home skillet anymore - and from than on, I started using that as my name for my friends. But it got old, especially after people started over using it around me, so I changed it up tp Home Burritos because, well, yeah, I'm random like that - But than I found the wonderful creation known as TAQUITOS, and that's how the now current name for my flist came about - B/c all of you lovelies on my flist are my Home Taquitos (taquitos being God's greatest gift on earth - right after Michael Shanks! XP)

Daniel and Vala because well, yeah...I love them. I don't know how to explain this icon - It's one of my own (I prefer my default icon to be one of my own making - not that I don't LOVE other people's icons - it's just...yeah, if I can make them, then i should have one of my own as default), and yet I can't explain WHAT it conveys...It's from one of the promo shots for AoT that came out a little while before it was released, and just the look(s) passing between them speaks volumes to me as a shipper - and then after seeing the scene itself, it IS so them, and the icon seems to have an even deeper meaning - as for why it looks the way it does - I did several variations of this one icon, and this just happened to be one of them - there is also one with Vala in the light, and Daniel in black and white, with the grainy movie film look...I think it's to represent that there is a unique bond between them, even if they seem to be on different ends of the spectrum (in this case, Daniel in the light and Vala in BnW).
