If anyone has ever said college is easy, they are fucking lying!
Alrighty, so when I went to fill out my housing app. back in January, I had yet to fill out my FAFSA. Still had yet to do it by the time I got my assignment, so my invoice said I didn't qualify for Financial Aid Deferment. Got the FAFSA filled out, got my awards (or got the proof that I'll be getting the awards come fall/spring), so figured a simple email to them after they sent out the 'pay your fee' reminder would get it taken care of (has done it in the past, so why worry about it not working in the past).
Ohhhhh no. I was wrong! Sent the email, and got a reply saying I have to FAX proof of my awards showing I will have enough to cover both the housing fee AND tuition. This was about two weeks before the original 'payment' was due. Of course I went on the vacay and didn't have time to print out the info and fax it to them...figured it would be okay if it was a little late. I wouldn't be the only person doing it I'm sure.
So I went on my webmail today, saw another 'pay your fee' email...and this one says if I don't have the info/proof faxed in by Tuesday, I will lose my assignment to Ragans and be placed wherever there's space...this could mean Kellum. Yeah, HELL NO, I'm not moving back in that craphole! Jumped on getting the information printed. Am having problems getting the printer/computer to print the pages correctly, so I simply copied and pasted the awards proof into a Word doc, along with a screen capture of the same page. Printed it out and figured out how to fax something using Madre's shiny printer/copier/fax machine.
Except, of course, it seems that the frelling FSU housing department is telling EVERYONE they need to fax in their respective information, so the fucking LINE is busy!!! I can't get my damn information to fax all because a bunch of freshmen and 'can't do it myself, need mommy and daddy' kids are getting their parents to do it from work and are clogging up the fucking line! And it's PISSING ME OFF like nobody would believe!!
I've now tried to fax it five times, without any result. It always tells me the line is busy. I will KEEP trying until Burn Notice comes on tonight. If by then it hasn't gone through, I will be emailing them ONCE AGAIN about this bullshit. I REFUSE to lose my NICE place in Ragans b/c of all of this.
