Pics - New Bedroom Look
So as I was determined to do, I got my room all squared away (the bathroom stuff still needs to be unpacked, but that was not in the agenda for today!) - and I didn't even cheat and just shove things in random drawers or put the little things that seem to have no place into a massive catch all container. I did it right and everything found a proper place to go! Now here are the pics, going from where I started yesterday to where I ended up just hlf an hour ago...

Now the doors to the left, with the bed behind me (yes, the bookshelf is pathetically empty and disorganized, but this was pre-unpacking...)
At a sort of angle now, with the door behind me and the desk/tv/bookshelf to my left (the absent books from the bookshelf are in the box closet to the camera and the red bag barely in the shot - I made sure THOSE were upstairs first! XP).

The newest put-together-yourself furniture edition - a DVD shelf thing.
In the middle of the rearranging - had already dragged the headboard that was against the wall behind the bed out of the room (there was a funny track in the carpet! *snirk*), moved the desk over to that area, brought my tv stand I had at school up to use as my nightstand, and moved the old nightstand out of the way.
And there's the new shelf in all it's glory! XD (This ends the Saturday pics - now we're moving onto the stuff I took today...)
I was really mesmerized by Sikozu in the window - like with her reflection and everything. So I decided to take a pic using the pet setting, and this gorgeous shot came out. Isn't she just so prettiful?!?!
I realized I ever got a picture of the other side of the room - of couse this is after I'd already emptied the old DVD stand and moved the DVDs over to the new one, but that's neither here nor there. You can see the closet is rather EMPTY (yeah, all the clothes are still in the suitcase as this point! XP)

You can kinda see the bookshelf is nice and full and organized again! Yay! All those tapes on the tv stand? Yeah, stargate tapes...the top shelf is mostly identified, but most of the others I have no idea what's on them. That'll be a task for this summer! Oh, and who's that at the bottom of the picture??
It's Sputnik!! (She REALLY enjoys sitting on the bookshelf and watching the doorway...it's funny to see a little face staring at you as you come around from the stairs)
TA DA! There's a nice flow to it that I like - and LOOK at that DVD rack shelf thing! It holds ALL of my DVDs (excluding Stargate, which has priority and is up on the bookshelf). And with all the stuff like it is, I suddenly had a spot to place my DVD binders/cases (which is where all the DVDs really are, of course!).
The only poster that I bought for my dorm room that went up in my room here at home - I mean, it's BLUE HARVEST. It just needs to be in here! (and special mention for the pink furry handcuffs hanging on the door! XD)
i really love how the old DVD rack can double as shelves! (and YES, that is a bag of SKITTLES in the candy case! XP)
The closet AFTER all the clothes are put up (and no, no closet doors - I took those off the DAY we moved in).
I wasn't sure if the Stargate Wall had changed since the last time I took a pic of it, so I took one just to be safe (and of course, the pillows are ONCE AGAIN hiding the GORGEOUS green Daniel poster *sigh*).
What the now 'desk' corner looks like from across the room (well, middle-side-ish of the room) - oh, btw, the speaker up on the wall there...when I went to put the Carmen autographed pic there, the speaker jumped off the wall and attacked my head...then proceeded to dangle precarious from it's cord in the middle of the room....just thought I'd share some of the FUN i had getting this all done.

The nook. As you can see, the old nightstand is now here, minus the purple scarf of awesome that I had on top of it...
Because the purple scarf of awesome is now covering my desk chair! XD I just love it so much, it needs to be near me in some way (so over on the former nightstand wasn't gonna cut it!).
My view of the tv from the desk - this is A LOT more convenient that how it was before. Now i don't have to shift or lean...of course this also means I can't change things on the tv myself. I'll have to rely on the remote! Oh gods, this could be bad (for all those who knw my relationship with my remotes, you understand the hassles!)
Oh, we had one casualty - he jumped from the shelf above...this isn't the first time he's done this...or the first time he's lost his head (as you can see, his hand isn't there either...) Mitchell just does NOT behave...ever (he is ALWAYS jumping off the bookshelf!).
Well, that's it everybody. Hope you enjoyed the pics...now that my hands are sore and achy, my shoulders hurt, my legs are horribly beat up and bruised, and I am still exhausted beyond belief! But it was definitely worth it because I'm LOVING the fresh and new feel to my room! XD
