It's definitely a little bit sad considering back in the day, Tower Records was this magical place that actually stocked music I couldn't find elsewhere and I LOVED it, but it hasn't been what it was in ages. The selection hasn't been all that great and what was there was frequently overpriced. While sure, it may not be quite the same as actually making a day of music shopping, going out to the store, and hunting around for stuff, I'd rather order exactly what I need on the internet, pay around $14 per CD MAX for it, and have it turn up at my door in a day or two.

Oh well. I still do that when I go shopping for vinyl.

I'm a person who LIKES having the original CD, artwork included et al, as much as humanly possible. My ginormous music collection can attest to that. But having a music addiction can be pretty costly and I'd rather buy from shops with much more reasonable prices.

fact of the matter is its a changing market and a changing world. Music retail in a rapidly evolving market that's nothing what it was 10, 5, even 2 years ago, for a number of reasons (most of which have nothing to do with piracy), they just didn't keep up with the times.
