Recs: Underworld Fic and Highlander Essay.
Every once in a while, I'll read or remember some fic I really like and wish I had a place to tell people about it. But, with some fics, there just doesn't seem a place to rec them. So, I decided to start posting them here.
Story: The Hybrid War by Jess J
Fandom: Underworld
After watching again last night, I was reminded of a fic I read just after I saw the movie the first time. Apparantly, there are two movies (a prequel, then a sequel) in the works for this flick, and I wonder if the sequel will be anywhere near as interesting and entertaining as this story. "The Hybrid War" picks up where the movie leaves off. You get to see what happens to Micheal and Selene, to the vampires and the lycans. At 91,035, it's a nice, long read. Even if you didn't love the movie (I did, but I know some people who didn't) this story is worth a look.
Essay: The Methosian Sprawl by RuaMor
Fandom: Highlander
While not fanfiction, this essay is a fun read. For those who read Highlander fanfiction, you'll notice most writers describe, in some detail, how Methos sits (on a couch, in a chair, on a stool). Well, you'll learn where this apparant fascination with how Methos sits came from in this essay. Really, if you've never even heard of Methos, this essay is worth a read.
