I think I mentioned this before, but I have a new fandom. Drake & Josh is a show about two step-brothers/best friends that aired on Nick for four years. While I love my guilty pleasure shows, I never watched this one for some reason. Then, this December, I caught the new TV movie, Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, and it was very funny and sweet. Then Nick ran a marathon, and I caught some eps, and they were very funny and sweet. (As funny as any "adult" sitcom I've seen recently.) Then I found some fanfic, and a lot of it was very good. And I've been hooked ever since.
I was also surprised by how many Supernatural fans were already in the Drake & Josh fandom. Maybe it's the brother thing. (Although D&J are step-brothers.)
A month or so ago, a group of fans did a
Drake & Josh Manifesto, and it made me see the show in a new light. I mean, I noticed that there was a lot of stuff people would consider slashy. (When two male characters touch, and hug, and kiss that much, it's gonna inspire some slashfic.) But, after reading the manifesto, I realized that D&J kinda puts the stuff considered subtext and HoYay! by other shows to shame.
I urge everyone to read the
Drake & Josh Manifesto. Even if you've never watched or even heard of the show, the manifesto is a hoot.
