...then it was time to turn the ship around
Not that I've bothered posting much on here lately, anyways for those of you who have noticed my absence and/or care to know - I've just got back from a 3 week trip around SE Asia (flew in and out of Bangkok but didnt really spend much time there, the focus of the trip was Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, which we visited as extensively as we could in the relatively short time we had available); yes it was great, we saw so many amazing places and things. Photos (most likely on facebook) and/or travel report might follow if/when I have time and can be bothered.
Anyways, 2 things:
1 - I'm obviously NOT going to read over 3 weeks worth of LJ entries, so if I've missed out on something, and/or there's anything I need to know please comment or get in touch with me whichever way suits you most
2 - as some of you might know, it was supposed to be the rainy season in SE Asia now... rainy season my arse!!! We didn't even see a drop of rain for the first 2 weeks of the trip, and even where it did rain (South Vietnam and Cambodia) it was a couple of hours of torrential downpour a day, sandwiched between extreme heat and extreme heat - for the rest it was UNBEARABLE FUCKING HEAT AND 300% HUMIDITY!! So, considering that I despise the sun and hot weather at the best of times, in light of the above I really hope the fucking sun fucks off somewhere far away from me for the next 6-8 months AT LEAST. Now, what this means to you: a) in case you plan to organise any activities happening during the day and in the open please don't be offended by the fact that I won't be taking part - I've no intention of being exposed to the sun a minute longer than strictly necessary for the foreseeable future; b) all you sun-worshipping hippies out there, PLEASE keep your comments on the above AND/OR on the effing sun or lack thereof to yourselves - again, I will not suffer sun-worshippers gladly for quite a while; provoke me and I WILL hit back, and people generally end up getting offended or upset when I do so. You have been warned.
That's all, normal service resumes from tomorrow, and who knows, I might even start posting random rants and insulting various individuals and sectors of society on here like I used to in the future ;-)
