hey everybody

Work has been so crazy for months now that this is really the first time I've considered taking a few moments to post.

I'll keep this short and sweet.

Sister had 6th kid on March 18th. A little girl named Alessandra Irene so now I have two nieces. I'd hoped this would be the last, but she's only 33 and had a great experience at the birthing center. Odds are good that I'll be posting about #7 within 15 months from now.

I've been unofficially offered a job here and am waiting (im)patiently for the offer letter.
I got the unofficial offer last Friday and boy did it pay to hang on for 9 years.

I'm getting a dog. Puppy to be exact. Boston Terrier. I've got first pick and am passing for next batch. Got a feeling my puppy is in there. As a result of looking at breeders, I found a breed of cat I can interact with...Bengal cats. I touched one and didn't die! This makes me muy excited. Not that I want a cat, but that there are ones out there I need to convince cat people to get so I can go over to their houses!

Speaking of houses...the house floods regularly with heavy rains. Studio is completely torn apart to deal with the water until we get a permanent pipe system in place. Every awesome situation has it's pitfalls and flooding is ours. Well that and the $300 + oil bill every winter month due to poor insulation. If the sump fails, we could potentially have a few feet of water. Therefore, nothing can go on the floor. Good news is that I get to paint on the sun porch during the warm months.

Started most of my garden in little plastic bins. After 2 weeks the cucumbers are winning at an inch in height. Green onions are losing as are most of the flowers except alysseum.

Have pinched nerve in my back at this moment I believe is the culmination of falling down stairs 3 times this winter and digging up stumps on Saturday. Enjoying (not really) the reminder that I am in fact not 20 anymore. Living in the city made me forget that I can break when doing strenuous things.

My car has an oil leak...dammit. Need to keep that on the road for rest of year to pay down debt before I can get a new one.

We are not building a warwagon...dammit. Mostly it's a big investment with not that much payoff. My time at Pennsic is coming to an end and spending $6k to build a mobile home isn't really that smart.

Planning trip to New Orleans this Halloween. First time there and first time to break out of states connected to New England. Sure, I've been to Virginia, and landed in a plane in North Carolina, but this will be...somewhere else. Iceland is next on the list.

I wish I could say I've been painting, but rather I allowed myself to become distracted from everything by Starcraft. To be honest I allowed myself to do this out of self pity...I was upset about water in the studio so I walked away from it. At least there are only 2 more Zerg campaigns and then the Protoss and I'm done. Zerg rule!
