you know how i feel bout da old internet.
i think, kind of, that's always "sort of been" why i can/could never get fully into net art: it's too, sort, curated or collected right off the bat, i'm not finding it by randomly browsing shit until 4 in the morning and then having my mind blown. search is half the excitement of stuff :(

This : http://www.rhizome.org/discuss/view/37290/ is sort of the best discussion on rhizome ~_~
and a comment by Eric Dymond:

the purpose of web based art moved from discovery to presentation.
once that happened, the medium folded in on itself and became just another screen.

sort of sums it uh huh? After surfclubs and now tumblr and now it's galleries and facebook invites everyday for some group show. But I don't mind so much. Though I do agree about the exploration aspect ...

he's kind of my favorite along with gregor schneider, in terms of uh i guess 'contemporary artists' that really make me feel things & the TERROR that they can both induce is like a dreamare.

he also did this thing that is sort of simultaneously a 'hyper-text novel' in that its presence on the internet allows it to be ultimately expandable & it's so 2002 that i just love how it feels, it's one of my favorite things he's done:
