Olympic Games for win
Women Tennis Double - Andrea Hlaváčková/Lucie Hradecká - It was such a joy to watch them play. They were always smiling, like they were playing for fun. No pressure. It was so refreshing. They lost to Williams sisters in the finale but for us they won.
BRONZE
Women´s 50 metre rifle - Adéla Sýkorová - another unexpected medal. We usually have one medal from a shooting discipline but our shooters that we counted on weren´t so lucky this year. Sýkorová surprised everyone and it was fun to watch the race as it was such a up and down competition. She got third with her last shoot.
Men´s Four Kayak 1000m sprint - exciting race and another nice surprising medal. Good work, guys.
400m hurdles - Zuzana Hejnová - the girl who was always 4th at most of the athletics events finished third. No one celebrated third place at the stadium so much as she did. Congrats.
I love our athletes and I love our commentators who made the Olympics so much fun. With all the new media we could watch the Olympics constantly everywhere. Czech Television did such a great job. Olympics 24/7 on two channels, fun TV studio right in London, perfect website with all the info and live screening of ALL sports for free and without commercials.
I was surprised to read an article about how NBC cut a fall of the russian gymnastic team just ot make it more interesting for the US viewers. They said it was not about the russian team, all that matter was the US team. It made me feel so upset. I know it must be a hard job to cut one full day of Olympics into 3 hours of prime time but come on, this is not the Olympic spirit. I love when are commentators tell us all the interesting details about other athletes and root like crazy for them. Like during the swimming when one almost lost his voice everytime the swimmers were at the finnish line, and we don´t even have swimmers. The enthusiasm is what makes the Olympics so exciting for me. Or course you root for your country the most but it´s not all about them only. So happy I can watch Olympics on our tv without commercials. Thank you ČT 4.
