Sent to my parents & many friends who DON'T understand

The biggest US e-mail advertising company has been hacked- their clients include most US credit card companies and nearly every major website, including Amazon.

Given the Epsilon breach, be very mindful of what we call "phishing attacks"- attempts to get you to take an action online via an e-mail.

Legitimate companies never collect private or account information from you via email. Given what I know about this breach and the next generation of attacks, I recommend NOT clicking links in legit-seeming email as well. If you have business to do or want to follow a link from an e-mail, open a window and type it in manually. Rally.

Avoid the shortcuts in email you may receive as though they may LOOK legitimate, it is easy to fake those.

Please take this seriously- it is going to be a nasty year in personal computer security.
