As many of you know, one of the reasons khaybee and I chose to leave the US was to do with the health care fiasco there. We have a friend who is truly suffering for it right now. We know you are generous folk, so if any of you are willing to donate some dollars- anything, really- to help her out, we will forward it directly to this friend in need

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give back - several friends helped me with my own medical bills last year.

One more comment regarding COBRA costs for your non-US readers: I have been asked to pay $800/month to continue my own individual medical coverage - and I had no health issues at the time. Minor correction, in view of your other facts: COBRA coverage is good for 18 months. 'Course, the lucky recipient still has to continue paying full freight during that time.
