...but I'm posting.
I just wanted to say that I had an interesting day yesterday. After spending 15 minutes driving around the wrong side of town looking for the mechanic, I arrive to work in a foul mood, but just as I enter, there's this older guy in a santa hat packing up a guitar. I ask if I missed the concert, and he says yes, so I make disappointed noises. Then he asks, "Why, did you want to sing?" "...yes, actually..." so he pulls out the guitar and we start singing and playing right there in the middle of the hall at work. I figure, I'm already late, so... People enjoyed it, got some compliments afterwards, and the guy thought highly of me too, and invited me to the gig later that day at lunch in the main work cafeteria.
I hemmed and hawed, but decided to go to it, and had a fun time. There was also a banjo player and another singer at this one. They weren't the most technically skilled, but everyone was just trying to have a great time making music, and I found their joy quite inspiring.
I think more of us musician types need to run into these kinds of people more. They remind us of why we put so much work into this in the first place.
On a separate note...what the hell is with my monk results on quizzes lately???
