I just read a research paper out of the International Journal of Oncology that found that (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate, which is a compound found in green tea, can lessen and actually prevent many cancers including breast, gastric, esophageal, ovarian, pancreatic, colorectal and skin cancers. It down-regulates an enzyme that is critical to chromosome replication and cell division. So basically it keeps cancer cells from being able to continually and rapidly divide because the ends of their chromosomes are not maintained during replication.
