The plan is working! I sent out a facebook message to some people I hoped would give me some monologue feedback via the video I posted on YouTube. It was a handful of people, 8 or 10 I think, that I really respect and whose opinions would mean a lot to me. I've already heard back from Kyle (who responded within just a couple of hours, which rocked), Cynthia, and Abby. They gave some really great, thoughtful notes, and some very kind words of encouragement, too. It was so valuable to hear from someone besides myself about how this whole process is going, and to have all this detailed, specific feedback coming back at me is just too good to be true. I'm hoping to record and post again this weekend, incorporating the notes I get from people. I know I've never felt this prepared for an audition before. When this thing is over, I want to know that I did everything I possibly could to do my best work. No regrets, no could'ves or should'ves. Just me at my best, with the help of some good friends and colleagues. I feel so grateful for the people in my life, both personally and professionally.
Therapy this week was wonderful. Sometimes journaling just isn't enough; there are some things you just have to say out loud in order to deal with them.
I had a dream I took a Greyhound roadtrip with Eric Forsythe, and that I spent the whole time listening to him tell funny stories about theatre and his life. If only dreams came true.
