Churches and haircuts and kwanzaa, oh my!

1. Unitarian Universalists are the bomb, no lie. Mom went with me to a UU service this morning, and I love these uber-liberal, socially involved people. I'm applying for a position as Development Coordinator at The Caring Place, a non-profit shelter for battered women and children, and I must have met half a dozen people at this church who are somehow involved in working there. That's the kind of people we're talking about: social liberals with real concern for their communities. I'll be back next Sunday for sure.

2. Kwanzaa dinner at Chris' was wonderful. He looks and sounds great, and I love seeing his family; they've always been so nice to me. He loved his painting, and the meal itself was DELICIOUS. So much wonderful African food, and let me say that the peanut spinach, which I shouldn't have enjoyed at all, was so very good. And those sweet potato biscuits? Full of scrumpt. I'm a little sad Chris and I didn't really get any one on one time, but that's ok. Any time with him is more than welcome.

3. Ok, I sucked it up and took some pictures of my new haircut... and I like them! Check it out:
