I applied for over $15,000 worth of scholarships. Am I productive or what?
I also had a couple of great phone talks today. First, with Casey, which felt wonderfully normal. I haven't talked to him in a long time, or at least it felt like it, so it was great to get on the phone with him and not feel that nervous tension I've been growing aware of lately. I got to hear about Twelfth Night and his old Ophelia (so awkward!), getting called back for that thing we auditioned for before I left town that has the potential to be a cool new work project, and to find out that he's going write my third letter! So exciting, and I'm so grateful he decided to make time to do it, even with everything he's got in front of him right now. He, Scott, and Eric are the absolute best people I would want writing for me. So great to get that good news and just have a little chatting time with my best friend.
I also got a call from Christopher Badass Hemingway, who I talked to for almost two hours about bowling trophies, ridiculous scholarship requirements, Meryl Streep and Heath Ledger, gay marriage, and who knows what else. He's one of those friends that it's almost impossible to stop phone conversations with, which is really rare for me. And I get to see him next week! YES! So that, too, was awesome.
Still in the works: Jamie and Dani Chicago Day (post-Christmas), poking around the Chicago swing scene (at my mother's request, no less. You got us all hooked, Amy!), and Abby plans. And apparently, the potential for New Year's Eve hanging out with Elyse Vaux. Hooray for the appearance of friends to break up my boredom!
