arts and crafts
Jamie and I have gotten on a serious arts and crafts kick. In the past week I have painted a picture frame, a jewelry box, two door hangings for St. Louis (one for my room and one for Casey and Amy's!), and two Snapple bottles, though I have no idea what I'll do with those. Also, and little acrylic-on-canvas treble clef painting, nothing fancy but I like it. I still have two wood pieces to paint, which I don't know what to do with yet, but I'll think of something. SO MUCH FUN TO PAINT! In high school I used to hang out with my best friend in the art teacher's studio and just paint and paint all the time during free periods and on evenings when I didn't have rehearsal. It's nice to get back to something like that.
Also, we've recently discovered Colonial Lanes, which is AWESOME. Cheap bowling, mini-golf, and only 75 cents for air hockey! I am an air hockey fiend, let me tell you. It gives me a ridiculous adrenaline rush, and I could honestly play it for hours. Silly, I know, but I'm so glad we found that place. And my bowling is slowly improving, which is cool, because I've been a terrible bowler for my whole life. Good summer so far, I'd say, and I think it's looking to stay that way.
